If Drudge is right that the Pentagon is planning to dump more abuse photos from Abu Ghraib, there is no use --we should just surrender.
If I had a loved one in harm's way, I'd tell them to desert. We can't win a war this way. Our media and governmanetal elites simply won't let us win this war.
Bush is too weak and the Republicans in Congress are intimidated by the big Beltway Media. The grunt and the Average patriotic American doesn't have anybody fighting for them.
There is no mass movement to defend the honor of the American military and there is no internal movement within the Pentagon or this Administration to say "Enough, we ain't giving the Rats in the media anymore sh*t to weaken us and boost the our enemies. We got a post-modern, post-nam Military brass-- not a pair of balls on any of them. There simply is no push back. The Schumers, the Durbins, the Moores and the MSM are more committed than the Right is.
I understand why recruitment is down-- the damn Generals don't defend the grunts. They keep giving more and more ammo to the Islamisofascists and the Enemies within. Tell me where I'm wrong.
Except for the grammar! It should of been "my attitude towards things become..." or...oh never mind. Ranting and writing are sometimes not so good together. Sheesh.
LOL!! BTDT!!
"If I had a loved one in harm's way, I'd tell them to desert."
Got a loved one who was in harm's way. May be going back in harm's way. But I think he'd loved to find you and have a loving talk with you about why Marines and American forces DON'T desert.
Alright - which one of you did it? I am ROFLMAO at the Keywords.... REMF. He he he!!!
Hear hear. Please thank your loved one for me and make sure he knows that *most* people around here don't believe the sky is falling. Thank God most of our armed forces don't believe it either. Where would we be without them?
wasn't me
LOL!
It's called hyperbole, but there is a significant point that I was making. When a nation deserts its men in the field, you get the recruitment shortfalls we have had of late. When the people who want America to lose are louder and more committed than the ones that want her to win, more good, brave Americans die. When the Pentagon is so squeamish and neutered and more afraid of the NY Times Op-Ed page than of knocking on the doors of families of brave, young Americans, you lose wars. The Pentagon doesn't have a draft on-- those fighting are volunteers. The Pentagon should not allow those not in the War to bring harm and added peril to those consentually fighting the war. The media and the Far Left aren't fighting in Iraq-- it is a great travesty that the Pentagon feels obliged to answer to them. The Pentagon should call a spade a spade and get tough with the media-- these press conferences where the Pentagon spokesperson gets kicked in the teeth and says, "May, I have another" by military-hating Leftists need to end.
I wish I had that pic of the couple of guys walking around with rain clouds over their head and the Repub asking, "You're a Democrat, aren't you?" I would post it to faithincowboys. :-)
Turning the photos over is the result of a lawsuit not a decision to just put em out there derived by the Pentagon.
I only wish Islamofascist and socialist gave up as easy as yourself. I know my life would be much easier. No matter how much trouble the libs give our own government, I just can't give up. As hard as it is to see my sons go through deployments to the Middle East it would be much harder to see my grandchildren have to go clean up years down the road if we pull out early.
I did it, tool.
Read all my comments before you make a snap judgement. you'll see that I'm more on your side than anybody.
I don't ever think we just sit back and let life wash over us. (hence the "ish" part of my name BTW.) And you're absolutely right that "everything will turn out fine" is crap advice.
I think where we are not connecting is that when we undercut the only hope we have, we make it worse. We lost on Abu Graib. A bunch of individuals (I don't call them soldiers because they don't deserve the title) did something stupid. The opposition got political mileage out of it and there is nothing we can do to stop it. So say the courts.
I see no reason to worry about this. Let it go. I would rather focus on what I believe is the most important part: We must win this war, and we must support the administration's efforts. ESPECIALLY when they have no choice, which is the case here. They didn't do this because they wanted to.
Have mistakes been made. Of course...but that will not, MUST NOT, deter us from the goal. You don't toss the whole game because the shortstop made an error. And if we learned anything from Vietnam it is that our attitude at home is what wins or looses as conflict.
To talk about giving up is stupid. C'mon, you know that. Instead of undermining morale, get a good nights sleep and pledge in the morning to fight even harder against the left.
Read all my comments....
That's the way to won people over, chicken little!
No kidding. This one's going off half-cocked at best! Is it a full moon??
I did read the whole thing. Sorry but I don't give up as easy as you.
It's gotta be a full moon - this one is starting to howl.
