Sorry, I always buy generic light bulbs. You're probably right. Illumination within ball stadiums is provided by lighting packages which often consists of metal halide MultiVapor bulbs (1,500 watts each), quartz flood lights (1,500 watts each) and high pressure sodium lights.
Metal halide light bulbs are a type of lighting called HID or high intensity discharge. Some other kinds of HID lighting are high pressure sodium, mercury vapor and low pressure sodium. Metal halide lamps generally have a greater light output, white light and require special ballasts and fixtures for each specific lamp.
Metal halide light bulbs are often used in industrial, security and roadway lighting because of their energy efficiency. The various manufacturers of these lamps have trade names such as Metalarc or Multivapor. These are all the same electrically although there can be color variances between different brands. Prices range around $200 each. You'll need about 500 for proper illumination.
The bottomline: This lighting package may be outside your ball park so you're probably better off sticking with the generics for the night games you play.

Happy Night Baseball Day and Night.

If it's electricity, and lightbulbs of any kind, it is a good idea that I not touch them.

Looks like fun. My brother and his son play it all the time, albeit usually during the day.

It was one of the few pictures that I wanted to post after I looked up "night games". I've never played. The pharmacy I used to go to though, also sold paint ball guns, etc, and organized games. It was kind of weird going in that store. Maybe you should go sometime with your brother and nephew. Enjoy your family while you still have them.

We don't need no stinkin' metal halide light bulbs...

ln the third year of a controversy over whether to install lights for night games at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Scott Mutter created this image of the fans lighting the baseball diamond with flashlights. It touched off a national sensation and became Mutter's most popular photomontage. Even though night games at Wrigley Field are no longer a novelty, the magic of this image endures. It provides a dramatic graphic depiction of the symbiotic relationship between professional players on the field and the fans in the bleachers .

"...you're probably better off sticking with the generics for the night games you play." My night games can be accomplished with very low-wattage illumination.

Hi everybody..
A couple who'd been married for over 50 years was sitting on the sofa.
The wife said, "Dear, do you remember how you used to sit close to me?" He moved over and sat close to her.
"Dear" she continued, "do you remember how you used to hold me tight?" He reached over and held her tight.
"And," she went on, "do you remember how you used to hug me and kiss me and nibble on my ear?"
With that, her husband got up and started to walk out of the room. "Where are you going?" she asked.
"Well," answered the husband, " I have to go and get my teeth."
