This was an email forward.
I took the names out for privacy. I had to post, too sweet!
Copy and edited:
A lady found the fawn under her step (they think the doe might have been hit by a car)... her Ridge Back dog is helping look after it. The family named the fawn Bella. Once she has regained her strength (she was not in good shape when the family found her) they are going to send her to some friends who (in the past) raised two orphan deer and released them to the wild. Right now she is being bottle fed. Their dog (Hogan) has basically taken over. The fawn even shares his bed.
I received these pictures via email last spring. I swear it said the pics were either from Washington State or someplace in the Midsouth.
Since I've seen the posts and points about the season, people that have received the email and more....
I'm sure this has turned into a net legend.
Net legend or real, the story is adorable. The pictures are precious.
Oh I believe the story is real. It's just the time and place that seem to be the question. Pet/deer stories are common where I live. A few years ago, some local teens out on their property saw a pregnant doe who had just been hit by a car. Because they were both hunters, they were able to cut open the doe and save the fawn. The fawn stayed with them on their property- with their dogs, until it was old enough to go to a petting zoo. They showed the fawn inside the house, which was hysterical!
Thanks for the ping!
The last picture is especially sweet and touching ... :-)

I'll tell you how this one ended up here if you tell me how yours ended up there.
I had pictures of my children and I when we saved a fawn a few years ago. They have always been at my desk until I got this email today.
I have no idea where those pics went. I wanted to post them on this thread.
I'm sure those pics are with my missing socks that vanish in the dryer.
My middle son was a new 3 at the time. He lifted the fencing on his own. He turned into the hulk. It was amazing. I pulled the fawn out and he took it as his own and carried it back to the park parking lot where we called the ranger.
I can't believe the pics aren't here at my desk. I'm frustrated about this.
DARN!
I'm sure there is truth to this story too. I'm also sure it has been added on to since it is an email forward.
Regardless, it is sweet and enjoyable. I can care less of the legend aspect. The real life news has been too intense lately and everyone needed to smile.
OMG, you are mean!
How cute.
THANKS for the ping.
Those pictures are wonderful!!
There is always the possibility that there are more than one picture that looks similiar. It may not be the same one!
Also...I just checked www.truthorfiction.com and there is nothing there to disprove this.
Animals are facinating. It's one of the reasons I hang out here.
Boy, oh boy!!!! Doesn't he look like Rusty?
bttt
Wow, and that's a MALE! How nice of him. Wonder how old he is?
How can you tell it is a male?
.
"The fawn even shares ~HIS~ bed."
At least, assuming whoever wrote this OP was correct.....
