The inscription shown below occurs above the original entrance of the Great Pyramid. I don't think it is original, but it could be relatively old. If you have any idea what it may mean, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

At first glance it resembles Greek Linear B, but clearly is not. It does not appear to be any of the ancient texts but does bear a remarkable resemblance to the old Hobo signs.
The first line of the text would translate to (transliteration):
Too many people have been here, danger or police, leave quickly. I can not find reference to the final symbols but my resources are not comprehensive.
Yep. I remembered some from back in the 50s when hobos were still commonly riding the rails. Several years ago I picked up a book (Dictionary of Symbols by Carl G. Liungman, ABC-CLIO, Inc) that included a section on those.
Some of the symbols do resemble it, but as I stated, I do not have an extensive reference. It is closer than any of the ancient texts I am familiar with.
Did you see the alphabet i posted in one of the posts above? The greek does resemble it. Now there where different styles of writing, so i do not rule ancient greek out. I have mailed an ancient greek expert, so she can give a definitive answer.
Further, it may be an old form of Egyptian, as they used a different language (at least synbols where different, grammar probably resembled it) before hieroglyphs.
"Made in China?"
Paging Daniel Jackson
Someone already made that joke.
I dont know thy the last symnbol has two lines, perhaps they are really two symbols drawn as one, for simplicity.Or, perhaps it is some Freemasonic twaddle scrawled on the pyramid in the past couple hundred years. :')
"Drink more Ovaltine."

I got a reply from the professor, and she and her college say it definately is not greek. The college suggested it might simply be nonsense scribbling.
So either it was of a very obscure language that isn't known or it isn't any real language.
I have to ask: sunkenciv, as you read the site before it went down, does he give any reason as to why nobody ever notived something inscribed on the piramid? Seems rather strange, don't you think?

I did hear somewhere (in a movie..) about ancient egyptians
making up symbols to use as personal identification.
So maybe a few of the symbols are real, and the last weird one is a tag. But it sure doesnt look creative enough to be a tag.
Making up symbols as personal ID was used near the start of writing signet rings pressed on clay, so it is reasonable. Maybe the taggers way back when werent as creative as todays?
But, it is supposedly made after the great piramid was already stripped of it's outer mantle. That inscription is either not ancient, or some architect used that inscription as a reminder where it must be located.
That would be strange, as it is the only inscription found.
The casing stone was removed by Arabs in 1356 guess it wouldnt really be ancient.
