How long are you classes? Mine are about 2 hours each, except one which is 1 hour.
The M/W/F section is 1 hour each day. The Tu/Th section is 1 hr 15 min each day.
Do you teach all sections every day?
BTW, did Amy leave already?
Are all your classes the Italian class?
Amy leaves tomorrow morning, I think.
No, I'm teaching Spanish now, and Italian during the summer.
College classes?
Yep.
That's cool. :-)
Hopefully in about a year and a half I'll be teaching full time like that too. LOL!
Good for you. I like what I do, and the money is good, too.
How many students do you have?
About 22 or so in each class (more or less.)
I told you that before, LOL.
Probably. I just didn't remember. LOL!
And you told me you have about 100 or something like that, LOL.
This semester I have 80 in one section that's full and a little over 50 in the other section. The M/W/F class was filling slowly. Students probably didn't want to go to class on Fridays. (The full section has a waiting list.) LOL!
Oh man! How do you deal with so many students? Do you find it OK?
The lecturing isn't too bad. It is a little more difficult getting class participation in classes that are so big, but I ask questions and call on people. The only thing I don't like is all the grading. LOL!
I see. Well, my classes require a lot of interaction because I teach another language, so the students need more help than in a class given in English. That's why smaller groups work better than bigger ones.
That's true. I couldn't imagine taking a class like that in a huge lecture hall.
LOL!!! That'll be hard.
