USC is the best football team. Is there any doubt in your mind?
Stuart Smalley says they're ALL winners.
Next week, Auburn vs. Texas, Utah vs. the OU-USC winner. More incredible games. How hard is that to pull off such a common sense final step? Let the 2 highest ranked conference champs host that game, and then a neutral site Superduper Bowl.
Only 4 schools would have their athletes miss any more school, so that argument is bogus.
The joys of being an Auburn fan...finish undefeated and STILL no chance at a National Championship. :)
I totally agree college football needs a playoff system. Utah fans got really incensed with the comment that their team was the 'intruder' at the BCS bowl game. The BCS really messed up this year, however, I see no changing in the next few years.
USC is the best, but they have to prove it on the field tomorrow night against Oklahoma. Anything can happen, and that is why the games are played. That is why it is so irritating to the teams outside of the BCS monopoly to have literally no chance of playing in a BCS bowl game or heaven forbid, actually win a football national championship. Such greed, and such a shame.
The winner of the Orange Bowl will be without question the best team in the nation.
After all the horseshit with this stupid BCS system, that fact is for sure, so all these Auburn crybabies (and the Utah wannababies) should just please STFU!!!!!!!!!!
After watching Florida State's demolition of West Virginia, I'm convinced they should be the nation's top ranked team. Ignore the season's loss column.
Auburn is the best team. The NFL GM's polled all agree. The BCS a joke but they did get it right last year. OU will win but they aren't #1.
For years I have always thought that the President could end this issue..he could have the division II and division III champs at the White House..when asked why he won't honor the "mythical" division I champ at the White House..he would merely say..division II and III have playoff..whereas division I has an idiotic bowl system..I don't have the time to honor about two dozen bowl winners..my two cents..it is a terrible system..I know no President is going to do that..but it would be nice..
I was totally disgusted when a VT player offered to help up the Auburn punt returner (C Williams?) and the Auburn player not only refused his help, but jumped up got, in the VT player's face, and dog-cussed him something awful! A totally classless act.
Written by the French figure skating judge from ABC?
Cool!
ROFL
What would make sense would be to have Utah play at USC, Auburn at OK, and have the winners of the 2 games settle the championship at a neutral site.
Utah slaughtered Pitt. Who's Pitt?
No, it's either USC or OK, with OK having the edge, ( I hope that I am very wrong.)
Division I-A decides it's champion the same way they decide a figure skating champion. The other divisions have playoffs, this is so bogus....DEATH TO THE BCS!!!! Congrats to the Auburn Tigers and the Utah Utes for their perfect seasons.
A playoff system would be ideal. Utah has more of a right to complain than Auburn.
V Tech's offense had more total yards than Auburn. Tech self-destructed and muffed 10 pts that was not a result of Auburn's vaunted defense. Auburn was fortunate to win the game.
BTW many of the Auburn players acted like punks, I hope SC & OU show more class.
Utes can bitch but Auburn fans are frankly delusional.
GO UTES!!! 2004 FIESTA BOWL CHAMPS!!
Yup, the BCS bites. Big time.
