Celebration of Lights (Kentucky)

Planned for Friday, Nov. 7, 2003 usually goes on the first Friday after Wakefield-Scearce's opening, in the downtown area. The event is coordinated through SMART, the downtown merchants group. The festivities lighting up downtown Shelbyville with Christmas lights while evening shopping hours are offered along with strolling Dickens' characters, carolers, musicians, horse and carriage rides, concessions and lighting of the community tree.

There are NO pictures of this on the whole dang internet! That means I'll have to post more pictures for doughnut day!

Building military alliances, or building multilateral utopias?

-- an interesting, if not simplistic, question of connotation.

I look kinda like the "O" most of the time, but like the "Y" when I'm happy!

I was never too good with "Name That Tune," though it's the only TV show I've been on, though I have to ask: Which song? Check out the archives. They also have inspirational messages and most have songs.

The parent/teacher conference went well this morning. She said that Marissa is doing excellent in recognizing her letters, numbers, shapes and colors. She is ready for Kindergarten except for her social skills.

She still needs to learn that she does not have to win every time.
Marissa has a very strong personality and wants to always be in control. Her pre-school teacher is not worried about this because she says that with her being in a social environment with other children, she will learn the social skills.

Now it is time to take her out to spend more time with adults. :) We are almost ready to head for Patriots Corner to celebrate the election results while we Support our Troops.

Have a great evening.

Oh, how precious - you have a kindergarten age daughter!

Amy, I haven't been able to write, and I'm not sure what happened, saw the last few posts... I am very sorry about your sister-in-law. I might have told you - I went to SF/Oakland in July for my best friend's (from kindergarten on) funeral. Her heart just stopped... My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
