I like nuts in my salads, ie: sunflower seeds and pine nuts in green salad. I will have to try this recipe. My Mom made a cole slaw with pineapple and walnuts with cabbage. It was very good.

The notes from Rich .... "Being Home" .... was he a POW? I was as surprised as you to see Rick's comment. It didn't seem to fit with the recipe, yet was compelling -- written by someone who likes cooking and who had served in 'Nam but, based on the noises described, I don't think he was a POW.
Of course, the Chinese and probably the Vietnamese use spicy peanut sauce to flavor many dishes, and his aroused olfactory sense reminded him of his days in Vietnam and of his good fortune in getting back home.

If I wasn't sitting here right now, I'd say that was me or, at the very least, I wish it were me.

We had a wonderful group of FReepers and we all had a great time.
The POW/MIA ceremony was awesome. We are going to make this a recurring event at our annual picnics.

I saw you on the picnic thread but I couldn't stay there. I do hope you are able to attend either next year or the year after.
These picnics are a lot of fun and a great way to meet fellow FReepers.
What can I say about the food? Too good and too much! :) It was wonderful.
