I'm not awake yet, so I'll skip the coffee with or without anything in it.
Kahlua in coffee isn't half bad! In fact it tastes pretty good at football games in December. : )

~ FRIENDS ~
As we walk our path of life,
We meet people everyday.
Most are simply met by chance.
But, some are sent our way.
These become special friends
Whose bond we can't explain;
The ones who understand us
And share our joy and pain.
Their love contains no boundaries.
So, even we are apart.
Their presence enhances us
With a warmth felt in the heart.
This love becomes a passageway,
When even the miles disappear.
And so, these friends, God sends our way,
Remain forever near.

When You're Down
Read: Psalm 6
Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. Psalm 6:8
Bible In One Year: 2 Kings 13-14; John 2
Sometimes it doesn't take much to get us down, does it? An unkind remark from a friend, bad news from the auto mechanic, a financial setback, or a misbehaving child can put a cloud of gloom over everything, even on the sunniest day. You know you should be joyful, but everything seems to be against you, making simple tasks a struggle.
David must have been feeling that way when he wrote Psalm 6. He felt weak and sickly (v.2), troubled (v.3), forsaken (v.4), weary (v.6), and grief-stricken (v.7). But he knew what to do when he was down. He looked up and trusted God to take care of him and to see him through.
When we look up and focus on God, something good happens. We get our eyes off ourselves and gain a new appreciation of Him.
Next time you're down, try looking up to God. He is sovereign (Psalm 47:8); He loves you (1 John 4:9-10); He considers you special (Matthew 6:26); He has a purpose for your trials (James 1:2-4).
Yes, life can seem unbearable at times. But don't let it keep you down. Meditate on God's goodness, talk to Him, and know that He hears you (Psalm 6:9). That will give you strength to get up when you're down. Dave Branon
Come, ye disconsolate, where'er ye languish
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel;
Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish:
Earth has no sorrow that heav'n cannot heal. Moore
When life knocks you to your knees, you're in a good position to pray.

Two Angels
I have two angels sitting here, conversing through my ears.
One seems to think angelic thoughts, and one enjoys his beers.
So I am torn in listening, to muses on each side.
Which way I go when writing seems to be whos last to chide.
I might receive a message which is clearly Heaven-sent,
Or I may respond to thoughts which have a lower bent.
I am no angel in my heart, though I do try my best.
Im just repeating things received to get them off my chest.
And whether they are good or bad seems like the time of day,
My angels work in shifts to tell me if I pray or play.
I may express a thought you know an angel wouldnt touch,
Or I could state a truth that you agree with very much.
Whichever way it comes to me, I let it turn my ear,
But I dont always consider well the worth of what I hear.
I give them equal witness, for my souls a battleground,
For those who will be judging me, my worth is to be found.

Laura Earl is very energetic too but she doesn't wake up until I'm leaving. Her hours are much more friendly than mine.

The Patriot
His brother died that day in Pearl,
The sneak attack took place.
He lost a cousin on D-Day,
He still can see his face.
The fight was tough and many died,
But freedom they would save.
He fought the Nazis gallantly,
He was more scared than brave.
But he and others pressed the fight,
And soon prevail they did.
He came back home to tickertape,
Back home to wife and kid.
He raised his family, they raised theirs,
Now all have moved away.
His wife passed several years ago.
He misses her each day.
Whats happened to the land he loves,
The one he fought hard for.
He cant go out for walks at night,
He has to lock his door.
He stays at home and reads a bit,
At least his dog still cares.
The young folks drive by in their cars,
Their music loud, their stares.
He flies Old Glory everyday,
He takes her in at night.
He sometimes wishes that he knew,
Just what could make it right.
Ill tell you now we owe this man,
Much more than we can pay.
Lets take our country back for him,
We need to start today.
Right now our troops are overseas,
Like he was long ago.
When they come home, home must be here,
The home we used to know.
Turn off the TV, get outside,
Go shake your neighbors hand.
Vote out the leftist liberals,
Get loud and take a stand.
America, is ours to save,
From outside and within.
Lets keep her strong and keep her great,
So home shell be again.
