Good afternoon, Darks.

Hey ... can you get a picture of a King Fisher? I would love to see it. We don't have any of those birds here. (That I know of. LOL)

Hope you are having a marvelous day.

I'll try.
They don't stick where I can see them long enough usually.
Found out they were here when they flew overhead as they went down the creek here.

Be happy that she is your EX!! Happy Military Spouse Day to all except TS's EX!!!!

Happy Friday, TS.

Have a wonderful week-end and count your blessings. You could still be wondering who she was with every time you had to leave town for a few days.

My Friday is kinda draggy. But it is me, not because I have no work to do! : )

Maybe I'm just saving my get up and go for our Suport the Troops Rally tonight. The peacenics will be on the opposite corner tonight. I sure hope we get a good turnout.

Did you take a walk yet? Or is it too hot for that?

Bring a lot of extra signs in case you don't get a good turn out, it will fill in the blank spaces! ; )

You are correct. I apologize - I didn't mean for my last post to sound so bitter - it was actually meant with a wry grin. I didn't realize how bitter it actually came across until after I read your reply. Forgive me?

"Are you writing a book too, Bob? You know what we really need is a book on poetry machines!"

I think it is pretty fair to say that I have "finished" three books. (One is currently at the publishers, details to follow.)

None of them is about poetry, or poetry machines. I would not want to repeat the sad history of the man who invented the bread-slicing machine.

Remember what you have learned here already:

1) Japanese poetry machines are hand-crafted, and hand operated.
2) CG and I built our own poetry machines from automotive shop parts. They are designed for high volume, and mine takes oversize paper.
3) Why would you need a poetry machine when you have us?

Lori, I loved the pictures of your little birds living in your lemon tree. It is SO much fun to watch a 'couple' build a new home and start a family!

PAL: We had some birds make a nest above our front porch several years in a row. Fortunately they did not attack us, but I felt badly every time I had to go out and the mama was waiting for me to leave so she could feed her babies. Once they find a good spot I think they tend to come back. (Did we take that nest down?)

We had one build a nest on the WREATH on our FRONT DOOR (the door is mostly glass, so I could watch their comings and goings from inside the living room without disturbing them) We watched as they built the nest, then there were eggs in that nest, we watched mama and papa bird take turns sitting on the eggs; they hatched! The babies grew! We watched as they took their first flight from the nest! I think they were wrens. It was the most amazing thing! (As we don't use our front door as much as our back door, they were not disturbed a lot every day)

Lori and Amy, you may have seen this before - I've posted it a couple of times in the past.

True, if I need a poem I only need to come here. But what about the others out there that don't know about Amy's Place?

I only use books to make wobbly tables level anyway, myself.

I spend a lot less time and money at Google than I did before.

LOL! I'm sure! However, you're still finding some fantastic graphics 'n stuff there, even if you *don't* have to spend as much time and money on the poems. :)

I love seeing how our Poets see the Graphics.

I do, too - delighted to see you're not being as stingy with the graphics/poems combinations as you were at first. lOL! Used to be so anxious to look and see what your daily opening graphic/poem was - now you're sprinkling them throughout the threads!

Thank you for bringing us Old Sarge. He is a wonderful addition to our team.

I'm proud of myself for that! LOL!
