The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

You bet the Power of Grayskull there were!--and She-Ra, too!:

Please tell me you didn't know where to find that info right off the top of your head! ;-)

Man...looked at it briefly. It's been years since I thought about that show. Brings back memories.

Somewhere in the wall of our house there's an Orko...my brother and I used to stash things in the ceiling since we had moveable tiles at that time. Drove my Dad nuts 'cause we never could get them seated quite right after. But Orko disappeared...I'm assuming he fell down behind the wall.

SPIDERMAN SHRINKY DINKS KIT (Pre-printed)

Oh dear. I think we may have to invest in some of these. Elf-boy might decide to be spiderboy for this.

Who, me? No, I, uh [hides He-Man Shrinky Dink collection], uh, used Google :)

We don't have any Orkos in our wall, but one time my brother dropped his Mr. T action figure down a hole in the wall, so we assume it's still in there, to be found by future archaeologists who will probably theorize that it was a religious artifact or something :)

There are some ritzy homes in the area.

Yep, that's the part of Plano where everyone is REQUIRED to have cedar shake roofs. One house burns, they all burn.

My grandfather did ceramics, wood carving, metalwork, and painting as well as conte crayon, pastels, and making signs.
Unfortunately, my talent is best in graphite pencil.

I noticed that, and there were some tiled roofs also. My first thought was "fire hazard."

what is the parade like? - Is our Elijah safe?

If he were on the street it would be prudent to worry, but he's high above the crowd up on a float. I looked for pictures and didn't see any, but I found out that Elijah was not the only Hobbit involved in Mardi Gras 2004! Dom was the Celebrity Monarch for the Krewe of Orpheus, which is Harry Connick, Jr.'s carnival group! That parade was on Lundi Gras (Fat Monday)

Nope, no pics.
And I didn't use a model for it either.
*chuckle*
I get asked about that often.
I honestly have no idea where the inspiration comes from.

SPIDERMAN SHRINKY DINKS KIT (Pre-printed)

My first Shrinky Dinks were Spider-Man and Hulk, I believe :) Also had Spider-Man Halloween masks, t-shirts, stickers, bubble bath, vitamins (have to admit they weren't as good as Flintstones vitamins, though), electric toothbrush, clock, folders. . .

"Fifteen birds! In Five fir trees! Their feathers were fanned, In a Fiery breeze!"
Loved that one, even if it was too short..

Sitting here, trying to think of something to make for dinner. I looked down at my belly, and saw baby kickin... that is the coolest thing to watch. Kinda reminds me of sigorney weaver in Alien.

While you were active duty they had a bunch of 'em burn two years in a row on Independence Day. The tiles were prolly allowed after that.

However, she told me today that this little girl she has now is an extra blessing because apparently, something is genetically messed up with her and her hubby

Hmmm. Sounds like God rewarded her Faithfulness in forgiving that EMS guy.
