The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

The Viggo interview looked like the same one I saw yesterday morning, so I didn't worry about tuning it in. It was actually quite a nice interview for him. He didn't even attempt to say anything inflammatory, lol. Do you suppose
Have you noticed that Elijah seems to be the spokesman whenever they catch the hobbits for an impromptu interview? I wonder if that is just because of his Frodo persona, or if it's because he's the least likely to embarrass anyone.
Am watching Entertainment Tonight now. I haven't watched any of this stuff for years!

(Oscar needs a Best Ensemble Acting Category. If they'd had one,LOTR would have been 12 for 12-JSiegel)

Hair; you got a point there all right, but elevenses has nice ring to it. Quite a sweep, hope PJ has a change of heart and does the Hobbit instead of King Kong.

It's a good site--hope you like it! On the picture, I'll either find somewhere else to post it, or else if you Freepmail me I can send it to you.

Will check out imdb.com. Have a good night!

I recommend Snapfish or Yorkphoto.... (they use the same nice interface)Very helpful--thank you! :) I will check those out.

FOTR is still my favorite of the three.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Mine too.
Favorite part of the book, and the sentimental favorite from when it first came out how much fun we had. Not big surprise there!
To: Ramius
My general sentiments on the Oscars were pretty much the same as yours. Crystal was funny enough I could tolerate the occasional PC jokes, and he did squish Moore which made up for it :) As for Sean Penn, I haven't expected any class from him since he married Madonna :)

It's the least screwed-up.

Bear. I met you halfway. Don't be such a grump. I will still like the movie no matter how much you grumble, and I would hope you wouldn't actually want to take away from that.

Hi there! I'm home. Miss anything?

Evening Sam; the LOTR gang did pretty good last night. Been drowning any worms?
To: Fedora; Darksheare
Fedora, your picture disappeared, is there any way I could prevail on you to repost the thing. I also am a art lover and work at it pretty hard myself.
So, Darksheare, I guess you didn't take a pic of your reclining nude?
When I was a kid, every night after my shower, I used to draw a B-25 on the mirror of the bathroom, which was steamed up. Bear in mind that when I was a kid, WWII was stll a somewhat recent event, and plenty of B-25's were still around, you'd see 'em alot at airports.
Still, the reclining nude is cooler.

I agree with you both, FOTR is the best movie of the three as a complete film, IMO.
However, there are parts of ROTK that I like better than anything in the other two, so it is hard to choose.
Hmmm...I just realized I butted into your discussion...sorry, just couldn't help it! I'm still hyped from last night!

Evening WN; saw you were avisitin' with Jill, how's the young uns?

Yeah, I liked those. Looking forward to seeing some of the other stuff after you scan it in.
Nice you have it running in the family. My cousin and I seem to have it in our family, but our parents didn't draw and I'm not aware our grandparents did, either, though we certainly got the overall "intellectual" side of our personalities from our grandparents.
I'm self-taught, also. I was inspired by reading comic books as a kid and trying to copy the style. Eventually that led me to read some actual art books :) I've been away from it for a while but I'm getting back into it lately. At this point I can draw in a certain style pretty well but my technique is limited because I haven't learned some of the formal methods. I'm trying to pick up the more formal side of it now so I can expand my range and make something commercially-viable, and also so I can illustrate my books.
To: Penny1
I agree.... I think. I should watch it again and make sure!
To: osagebowman
They are good thank you! And Jill was in a very talkative mood this morning so we had a good visit. I always enjoy talking to her when she is talking. I got to talk to the youngest granddaughter too! :-)
Tom is in New Jersey this week looking at some weapons specs. I'm thinkin' he has a cool job! Jill thinks it's boring. LOL
