OK, OK, OK....we went and got our stinking Christmas tree today. Blech! We got a little bitty one. It's the smallest tree I've ever had. Less to decorate and less popcorn we'll have to string. >:)~ I'm thrilled.

Bah Humbug!!!!
At least you have a tree. I was planning to get mine Wednesday but ..... we have a school Christmas play to attend Wednesday afternoon. My great-nephew (in kindergarten) needs some family there so I'll wait for my tree until Thursday.
Merry Christmas.

Honestly and truly, I do count my blessing and have absolutely no reason to be in such a bad mood. I just miss our family back in Texas and St. Louis. This is the second Christmas in a row to be without them. Plus, when we moved to Florida, we left all our Christmas decorations behind because we thought we would be back in 6 months. We haven't been able to get a moving van to get the rest of our stuff. My kids needlepoint stockings are in storage as well as all our antique ornaments which have been in the family for generations. I miss seeing all my grandma's things. Sniff. Last year, I could deal with it. This year, I'm unhappy.
BUT, at least my husband and I are still married and actually LOVE each other.....which a lot of couples don't have. LOL And my children are wonderful and healthy. We're together and Tim has a job this Christmas. (First Christmas in 3 years, he has a job).
Now please pass the cheese to go with this whine. Waaaa! I'm hungry.

I understand, SpookBrat. I know how hard Christmas time could be. I miss my Mom, Dad and my brother so much, all the time. I know they look down from Heaven and want us all to enjoy the Christmas season just as they always did. But at this time of the year it hits me a little harder. But I keep the Christmas spirit going, enjoy the season and count my blessings.
You are blessed with a beautiful family, hold them close to your heart and have a Happy and Blessed Christmas.

I never really thought of myself as a materialistic person or one particularly attached to this "world", but since my husband was laid off the first time September 2001, God has done a major overhaul on my heart. He has taught me not to trust the bank account or my husbands job to provide for us. God has taught me how to not be attached to anything worldly because it could all go up in flames in 5 minutes.
I have nothing to pout about. I just miss my mother-in-law, my mother, my brother, my two sisters, Tim's 3 sisters, all their husbands and all the 13 nieces and nephews and 2 great-nieces.
You're not alone for Christmas are you? I'm sorry for all your loses. Christmas is a hard time for those with so much family gone. (((hugs))) I'll be thinking about you.
