.................................................................
The Poetry Branch has been in limbo since the prior hostess left FreeRepublic April 15th 2003. We've since learned that said hostess has lost her posting privilege. That being the case, and Jim Robinson having given his ok, I wanted to renew the thread.
FreeRepublic is blessed with many fine poets, and we look forward to seeing their poems posted on FR once again. There were many non-poet FReepers who visited the Poetry Branch for the camaraderie; we hope they will return.
I would like to invite everyone to visit and relax at Poetry and Potpourri. Hopefully you will renew old acquaintances for chatting, sharing jokes, telling stories, posting cartoons, etc. Everyone needs a place to escape from the everyday news, make Poetry and Potpourri that place.

Evening everybody. Happy Halloween all!
HALLOWEEN MAGIC
A bald-headed ghost
Drank some witches' brew
And on top of his head
A strange thing grew.
It was pointed and tall
And black as a bat
With stringy long hair
Where his head was flat.
The sad little ghost
Didn't want any hair
Or a black pointed hat
So he said, "Witch beware!"
Then he chanted some words
With a spell-casting switch
And gave Halloween Night
A bald-headed witch!!

>>>How was the party at school?
We do a parade along a few blocks. After the parade, we come back to the school for classroom parties. My son, Douglas, didn't seem to be doing to well. He was coughing a croopy (sp?) sound. I signed him and his sister out early. I checked his throat with my husband's odoscope. His left tonscil looks infected. After some real food, tylenol and some rest, he was able to walk a few blocks for trick or treating. But HE wanted to come home. So you know he wasn't feeling well.
Well, he got enough halloween in for the novelty. And our house is silly enough so he doesn't feel like he missed a thing.
How did your two do? Did you post any pics of their costumes? I still in skim mode with the threads since I'm in and out.

Darn it! You two have done it now - I'm going to go see if I have any Cappuccino stuff - any flavor will do right now, but the Mocha does take care of that chocolate craving. It's all Mama_bears fault Billie! She got me started on Starbucks! I now want them to put in a drive thru in my driveway! :-) So yummy! And since you drink it, it can't be fattening, right? (ha!) I have three different mixes now at home so I can have it anytime, but it ain't the same as the real thing!

LOL! And in the summertime, there's Starbucks' caramel frappuccino! Yummmmmmmm! I wonder if that is like the iced Caramel Machiado? I've never tried anything else, summer or winter, because nothing could be better than the Caramel Machiado. :-)
(BTW, I never did go get one. Now it too late, all the witches and hob-goblins are out in force. Guess I'll wait until tomorrow.)

I think they are pretty similiar, I have had the carmel frappiccino and it is yummy! There may be some difference, like maybe cream or something. The Mocha Malt frappiccino is to die for!

Hand it over kids!!!! I paid for those costumes and the gas to get you there. Woohoo! Calpernia, Ally was sick tonight too so we had to come home. Poor girl went as long as she could. We had a good time, except for this "Michael Myers" character following us around. Creepy!
Here are our pictures. Jonah is being attacked by the "candy monster".

Sorry your little guy is sick! Hope he gets better soon. I miss Halloween parades. We did that when I was in elementary school too.

Well, I dress up and go with them. :) DH drives the car while we walk around. Every year, I keep forgetting to take water. Remind me next year because the kids get so thirsty.

Gosh, I didn't even recognize Ally! She's taller than you now.
If Jonah eats all that candy he'll be so hyper he won't go to sleep for a week!
I can picture you Trick or Treating with your grandkids one day Spooky. LOL!
