A federal judge on Monday blocked the Trump Administration from firing intel agency officials who worked on DEI programs.
US District Judge Anthony Trenga, a George W. Bush appointee, said the fired officials are entitled to appeal the firings and seek reassignment for other jobs in the agency.
Last month Judge Trenga rejected a bid to block the Trump Admin from firing the 19 intelligence officials.
“In effect, they are at-will employees,” Judge Trenga said last month during a hearing, according to Politico.
.... Snip....
Reuters reported:
A U.S. judge on Monday blocked the firing of 19 intelligence officers who had worked on diversity, equality, inclusion and accessibility programs that President Donald Trump ordered eliminated, according to their attorney.
Kevin Carroll, who represents the Central Intelligence Agency and Office of the Director of National Intelligence employees, said that Judge Anthony Trenga of the Eastern District of Virginia ruled the officers have the right to appeal their terminations to CIA Director John Ratcliffe or Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. The judge also ruled that they have the right to be considered for other jobs in the intelligence community, Carroll said.

Reassign them to cleaning the restrooms at Langley.
Pull their clearances and let them sweep the hallways
I’m starting to think he is ignoring them he’s just not making a big deal out of it. They sent more Venezuelans packing the other day.
“they are at-will employees”
“at will” means they can either be fired or quit with no notice.
WTF?
>I’m wrong on the facts and law, so I win
Normal retirement age [taking senior status] is between 65 years old and 70 years old.
Trenga [born in April 1949] assumed senior status on June 1, 2021 - when he was over 72 years old.
He held out until Pedo Joe's puppeteers could replace him. He's RINO scum.
THAT JUDGE IS OUT OF HIS/HER LANE AND LOST IN EXTRA-CONSTITUTIONAL SPACE.
BAN THAT JUDGE FROM USING ALL U.S. GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS, PROPERTIES, FORMS OF COMMUNICATIONS, AND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS.
Federal judges - except for the USSC - use federal facilities and communications that are on the Executive Branch foundation.
(The USSC building, and its immediately adjacent property "to the curb" are on the Judicial Branch foundation.)
Federal judges are NOT the management of Executive Branch operations.
The Executive Branch - as a courtesy and with some deference - "respects" the LAWFUL Judicial Branch functions that occur on the Executive Branch foundation.
But the federal judges DO NOT have any Constitutional right to operate there, on the Executive Branch foundation.
NOBODY has an obligation to obey any law, any order, that is un-Constitutional.
Extra-Constitutional is also un-Constitutional.
"Legal" is not necessarily "Lawful."
Follow the lawful; be aware of the foundations.
That, or the public restrooms at a bus station in San Francisco.
Headline doesn’t match the ruling.
They can appeal the firing or apply for different positions.
Exactly. People freaking out over a lot of these judges are going to find many of those opinions and orders vacated, reversed, or moot a few months down the road.
It isn't a sprint, it's a marathon.
The American judiciary has managed to discredit itself. It will soon have an approval rating less than that suffered by Congress. And I ask, does the USA need 1.3 million lawyers?
Way too many people are in law school who don’t even have that much interest in being lawyers. Just kind of continuing the college experience.
