In Japan, “Johatsu” refers to people who disappear due to pressures like failed marriages, debt, and job loss. They abandon their lives and live anonymously off the grid. Specialized companies, called “night movers,” assist them in vanishing completely
Behind the scenes, specialized businesses known as “yonige-ya” facilitate these disappearances. These “fly-by-night shops” provide services to Johatsu, helping them erase their existence. From creating new identities to arranging housing and employment, these discreet agencies operate in the shadows, ensuring their clients vanish without a trace.

Seems like a plot for a murder mystery. How many people survive the move? Or are they all turned into slaves or involuntary organ donors, etc.?
Ha! Good for them! They should call it Galt’s Moving and Storage! 😄
If the guy who owns the “Night Movers” outfit also owns a pig farm, then you may want to exercise caution.

I’ve been watching videos about Japanese homeless, some of it is quite genteel, and older couple living in the underbrush near a river for over a decade, with a garden I’d never be able to create. Of course, there are homeless very similar to ours, but not as crazy or drugged.
Please! I’ve been wanting to go Galt since 1975! Nomadic life was at least constantly moving, married to a pilot. LOL.
Wait till Night Movers gets hacked. Oh boy.
I was just thinking that the customers get sent to manage a Panda Express under a new identity.

Thanks, I found it very interesting. Forwarded to Mrs. Pete, who worked at a women’s shelter for a time.
I think I found it: Why Japan's Homeless are Nothing Like Your Country
About three minutes into the video it is mentioned that there has been no increase in Japanese income in 30 years. So people work very hard for low wages.
Also, Japan has an aging population. Many of their homeless are elderly and not in your face like American homeless who are drug addicts or mentally ill who have gone off of their meds.
Maybe they help move them to Katmandu.
