I'm hearing a lot of chatter tonight that the Ukrainian position in Avdeevka has all but collapsed. Evidently the air defense base anchoring their southern defenses was flanked and rapidly overrun, with the Russian flag planted on it. I'm also hearing: The Neo-Nazi Azov brigade (disingenuously referred to simply as the 3rd Brigade in Washington/MSM propaganda today) was sent to bolster Ukrainian defenses on the flanks while troops in forward positions retreated, but they were caught in the open field, massacred, and are refusing to follow orders. This would help explain the general collapse scenario.
Maybe it is not so bad for Washington's forces (ala Tolkien's line "he that flees counts every foe twice"), but it appears a slow retreat is turning into a route, with retreating troops being bombed heavily in the open before they can get a fair distance into "safe" territory.
What are other people hearing? There is not a blip out of the MSM, of course.
Just what I posted in the OP, that they had been deployed to guard the flanks but did not have prepared positions and suffered heavy losses, and are now refusing orders (whatever those might be).
How many Ukrainians have died to advance the policies of Joe Biden and the Deep State? Can I get a detailed breakdown for the 36 month time period Biden has been in the White Hut?
How many Ukrainian soldiers?
How many Ukrainian civilians?
How many non-Ukrainian soldiers?
(If you would like to also break it down by gender and/or skin color, that is not necessary. But thanks for the thought.)

On February 15th, 1989, the last Red Army soldiers left Afghanistan.
After 10 years of fighting, the Soviet-Afghan War was over,
The Red Army lost 14 000 man in 10 years.
Now, the Russians have lost 200 000+ in Ukraine in less than 2 years
“The Azov Brigade is to be honored for protecting the territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
One of the reasons the LPR and DPR militias fought so hard, and why there is so much support for Russia and so much hostility to Ukraine in the East, is because Kiev sent AZOV/Right Sector in there after 2014, and the criminal antics of AZOV in Mariupol, Odessa etc. have hardened the attitudes of the Separatists never to surrender to Kiev.
I would like a Russian explain to me why is the tolerance by the Russian tolerance for Russo-Ukrainian War casualties so much greater than during the Soviet Union when they fought the Afghan War. It doesn’t make sense to me. They were Communists back then. But now, they are Capitalist. So on paper, they have more to live more. Or do they?
Most deaths are not from Moscow or St Petersburg but from remote areas like Buryatia
Russians will eventually take Avdiivka, at far greater cost than Ukraine, then stop, unable to advance further. The same as what happened in Bakhmut. Russia is not attacking places out of operational planning or strategy. They are attacking where there are enough rail lines and roads to concentrate forces to attack. That's it. Russian logistics can not handle more than that.
Social media can take every Twitter or Telegram about every block by block report and turn them into overly academic analyses all they want. The big picture is Avdiivka is 11 square miles, Russia flanked the city on three sides, and it took them two years to take it. That is a pitiful showing by the Russian military.
Russia is willing to take high loses. There is still a limit on what they can take and fight effectively. According to Forbes, Russia lost 10% of its tanks at Avdiivka, at a 12:1 loss ratio, for what is left of the city. Ukraine can afford to trade a pile of rubble for casualties like that.
One more of many Russian Pyrrhic victories.
I’m not Russian, but the difference would be that Afghanistan was a foreign, offensive venture. The war in Ukraine is a defensive venture meant to drive back NATO expansion from Germany to the Russian border, in direct contradiction to the NATO promise not to expand following the collapse of the USSR. In addition there is the persecution of Russian-leaning citizens by neo-Nazi elements in Ukraine. Ukraine has a significant Germanic population (that’s why you have people like the American political fraudster Alexander Vindmann being of “Ukrainian” identity despite having an obviously germanic name) and that seems to play a role in the existence of neo-Nazi sentiment there.
“According to Forbes”
Thanks for the LAUGH!
Here we go, another Uke harpy, euro-trashbag flying in, recently, with English as a 2nd language.
And actually boosting real Nazis, for real.
GTFO eurotrash - you stink like a $h|tpile.
Right, and this NATO "promise" is in what treaty?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s great-grandparents died when the Nazis burned their village, he said in an interview on CNN Monday.

Putin refuses to mobilize in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
So Putin is not going to break.
Sucks for Ukraine.
Zelensky, of Jewish ancestry, said the quiet part out loud last year: he wants Ukraine to become a ‘big Israel’, as well as allowing dual Israeli citizenship. After cleansing Ukraine of Nazis, the final step will be to use this opportunity to cleanse Ukraine's breadbasket of Christians. The strategy is to create a second homeland for Israel, a gift for God's chosen people, paid for by the West.
