One stepmom has left her stepdaughter devastated after telling her that she would rather stay at home with her pet parrot than come and stay with her for a week to help with wedding planning and "bond" with her and her two-year-old child.
Understandable...parrots are much more fun.
A lot funner than a wedding 2 years overdue.
I’d go with the parrot too.
She should get her macaw an emotional support animal.
The enmity she just created will last for years. Not smart.
And now for a parrot joke.
A man bought a parrot who constantly swore, using the most vulgar words possible. The man tried all sorts of bribes to get the parrot to clean up its language. But nothing worked. The parrot kept on swearing.
Finally the man lost his temper, and put the parrot in the freezer for a minute.
When let out, the parrot said, “I am truly sorry for my bad language. I promise you it will never happen again. But let me ask one thing. What did that turkey do?”
LOL! I am sure that if my step-daughter ever gets married, she would prefer that I stayed home with a parrot!
Agreed. Very not smart.
Then you could probably both be happy.
But otherwise, parrots live forever—this woman will have all her future years to spend with hers.
It is a big world.
Some people are nice.
Some people are less nice.
Some people are not nice.
Nice people are nice to have.
I’d go with the bird..
Having read the article, (I know, I know it is not tradition!) I would have to side with the Stepmother.
Stepdaughter has not visited in four years and now suddenly wants a unpaid live in maid, babysitter and wedding gofor.
🤣😂
I was at the pet store with my daughter. I walked by a lonely parrot for sale. So I started talking to him, told him to show me what he could do with all his toys and stuff. He was doing all kinds of acrobatics and tricks while we talked. I told him I’d take him home but I couldn’t afford him and I didn’t think my cats would be his friend.
I finally turned around to see a bunch of people behind me enjoying the show, and in the back was my daughter with a big smirk of her face.
I hope that parrot got a good home.
Yup. “Come visit and do stuff for me” is hardly a warm invitation.
I too read the article. SM has not visited either.
And, the SD was upset with SM as a teenager - something not at all uncommon.
some people are not meant to be close
I am sorry but when you continually unload on people telling them you do not want them in your life you are not allowed to just turn around and say, "ok I need you to come take care of me now."
As my dad would say, you need to dig your well before you are thirsty. If she had reached out two years ago and attempted a relationship then, that would be one thing. This just makes her look like a user.
So would I.
