Some people rent a condo or house when going on vacation, but one Florida man just broke in and made himself at home, even leaving behind identifying information, post-break-in.
On Tuesday, Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 100-block of Avenida for a burglary.
According to deputies, the suspect had smashed the glass on the porch door, entered the unoccupied vacation rental, used the bathtub, slept in the bedroom, made himself a cup of coffee in a mug, and filled the kitchen trashcan with trash.
Deputies say the suspect even threw his bus ticket stub in the trashcan.
“Let’s just say he was not the type of criminal to try to cover his tracks and was identified as 28-year-old Zachary Seth Murdock,” said ECSO.
Later that same evening, ECSO deputies responded to the 1600-block of Via De Luna Drive in reference to a burglary that had just occurred.

So you know them, too!
Haha.
Yeah we all got relations like that.
But with mine being in Florida I pray to God to let innocent people be sparred and aim it at my cousins!
So you know them, too!
Haha.
Yeah we all got relations like that.
But with mine being in Florida and during hurricane season, I pray to God to let innocent people be sparred and aim it at my cousins!
It’s because his folks read “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” to him when he was a child and did not tell him that he should not imitate Goldilocks’ behavior.
The dude abides, and is a California man.
The dude, Donny, and Walter eat at In n Out.
Feeling your anguish.
The stories I could tell.
Best to let it go.
Nobody lives rent free between my ears =o)
This sounds like a squatter from New York who came south to spend the winter in Florida.
Hey, dude we don’t play the same games in Florida.
I don’t think I would’ve even reported it. He was seeking shelter from the semi-cold of north Florida, probably around 45 degrees. He was cold and hungry and did very little damage.
Maybe he can pay for the broken glass, maybe not.
When I built my detached garage with a workshop on the back I debated briefly as to whether I would put a lock on the door between the car part of the garage and the workshop. I decided, no.
Why? The door is almost all glass and it’s in a garage full of stuff to break the glass and unlock the door. It would stop no one. Would only lock me out accidently somehow.
I can only think of two reasons a person would be in my garage uninvited: 1) He’s up to no good, in which case the lock on the glass door would do absolutely nothing. 2) He’s seeking shelter from the storm, in which case he’s welcome as long as he doesn’t steal anything or damage anything.
At least he was polite. Far better than bears breaking into cabins at Lake Tahoe. Their manners are dreadful.
Not only in my head but my backyard view.
They sold out their mother’s part of the family 170 year old farm and I now have to live with suburban idiots as neighbors while they live in Florida with a rental home.
Well, death can’t come soon enough for me. Sighs.
“””Doesn’t the fact that he had an incoming bus ticket negate his status as a Florida Man?”””
Most assuredly it does!!!!!!!!!!!
See my post where I suspect he is a New York Man.
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed.”
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed, too” said the Mama bear.
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed and she’s still there!” exclaimed the Baby bear.
“bus ticket “
Organizations give out bus tickets to Florida in the northern state, put the on street corners and take a cut.
America’s basement.
Why are these antics never performed by “Iowa Man”?
Well, green means go.
LOL
Make the room that faces their house the naked room and remove the curtains =o)
Because the Iowa public disclosure laws are likely more stringent, so one never hears of “Iowa Man.” But even if all public records laws were as open as Florida’s, Florida Man would probably still distinguish himself from the crowd.
