Some people rent a condo or house when going on vacation, but one Florida man just broke in and made himself at home, even leaving behind identifying information, post-break-in.
On Tuesday, Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 100-block of Avenida for a burglary.
According to deputies, the suspect had smashed the glass on the porch door, entered the unoccupied vacation rental, used the bathtub, slept in the bedroom, made himself a cup of coffee in a mug, and filled the kitchen trashcan with trash.
Deputies say the suspect even threw his bus ticket stub in the trashcan.
“Let’s just say he was not the type of criminal to try to cover his tracks and was identified as 28-year-old Zachary Seth Murdock,” said ECSO.
Later that same evening, ECSO deputies responded to the 1600-block of Via De Luna Drive in reference to a burglary that had just occurred.

LOL, “Florida Man” stories!
The real question of note here:
Was the vacation rental not too small, not too large... but just the right size?
Was the coffee not too strong, not too weak... but just right?
Was the bath not too hot, not too cold... just the right temp?
Was the nap...
Yep. This one happened in my neck of the woods. You probably remember the area from your Navy days if you ever worked at Pensacola Naval Air Station or Whiting Field.
The Three Alligators are gonna be p!ssed!
(Or the Three Palmetto Bugs or whatever.)
“filled the kitchen trashcan with trash.”
Did he bring his own trash?
Sounds like a good way to get shot. People here are even careful about going in my backyard when they’re scheduled to come.
I hope it was one of my cousins properties.
I hate my cousins.
Happens all the time. Not kidding...a lot of condo owners are snowbirds and they’re not even going to know it happened for weeks.
That said, Florida man doesn’t usually trash the place and once they’ve repaired the broken glass, they should be good to go.
I went out there once with a petty officer I worked with, that was where his family lived. It was nice, I went to the museum...very white beaches.
I did spend a week or so on the USS Lexington doing carrier qualifications for my squadron, and it was bloody awful. She was a bit crusty and dilapadated even then, and the nights I slept below decks breathing the air that was completely infused with Naval Distillate. It was awful. I couldn’t sleep for the most part, and when I did, it was a feverish sleep, I could taste it in my mouth. Worst nights on a ship I ever had.
That said, I thought Pensacola was a very pleasant place indeed!

Just wait until millions of Illegals take up these opportunities.
I shouldn’t laugh, but I just cannot help it!
I could have posted that EXACT same text.
I hate your cousins too!
Kidding of course.
Honestly, my family is a NIGHTMARE and I echo (I said ECHO) the sentiment with my cousins.
One might get smoked in LA...
Nah he left Pelosi at home
I think I’ll pick up a few ticket stubs from the bus station trash before my next burglary.
Doesn’t the fact that he had an incoming bus ticket negate his status as a Florida Man?
At least he used the trash can, and did not trash the place completely.
