Several children at Uvalde Elementary School made 911 calls begging for help as a lone gunman shot their classmates and teachers during Tuesday’s massacre in the western Texas town of Uvalde that killed 19 students and two teachers. The report of the 911 calls was made by Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw at a press briefing Friday. McCraw also said the on scene commander, the Uvalde police chief, decided the situation was a barricade and not an active shooter, even as 911 calls came in throughout the hour from the children, and held off storming the classroom until a tactical unit arrived even though 19 officers had gained entry to the school. After an hour the 18-year-old gunman Salvador Ramos was killed by a Border Patrol agent who stormed the classroom.
Summary: 911 calls were received at 12:03 p.m. CDT from a student room 112. Student called back at 12:10 advised multiple dead. Called again at 12:13. Called again 1t 12:16 and said 8 to 9 students alive. at 12:19 a 911 call from another student in room 111, call ended after another student told her to hang up. At 12:21 three gunshots could be heard over a 911 call. At 12:36 a 911 call lasted 21 seconds, the student caller called back and was told to stay on the line and be very quiet. She told 911 “he shot the door”. 12:43 (and/or) 12:47 she asked 911 to “please send the police now.

Hate that things have gone so far that I have to say:
BINGO!
Should have told the “law” men a Trump associate was in the room.
The problem with everyone’s outrage is that THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME.
Don’t act as if this is the only mass murder where police stood outside wondering what to do.
Remember all the cops outside campus for 2007 VA Tech?
Actually it must be very hard to ascertain what to do. We found out 9/11 how many orgs don’t directly coordinate info together, either.
Easy to be armchair cops.
I agree. Hang the guy making the decisions. I would beat the crap out of him if I was ever in the same room with him
It’s been posted here on FR in several different threads, including one on the day of the shooting.
Neither of those things you stated are true. The shooter had on a vest, but no armor, and the police on the scene were armed to at least the level of the shooter and were wearing body armor.
Some of the police outside had helmets and body armor on, and they were carrying police issued AR style rifles. They may well have been select fire LEO only models, and/or AR-10 style weapons able to fire more effective rounds.
The first officers may have only had their body armor and a 9mm pistol in hand. The officers arriving subsequently had plenty of armor and armaments.
What you expect them to do?
I guess I don’t spend enough time on the FR. Lol.
And that is why it is getting harder and harder to accept the idea that they police aren't willfully or intentionally failing.
Everyone accepts that mistakes get made, and that the first time something happens the response may be poor. But once you get to where we are now just standing around and waiting for the shooter to finish killing the kids is not acceptable.
The same police would never accept a civilian's story as legitimate if they said something like "I saw my ex-wife being attacked by a pit bull so I locked her in the trailer so the dog wouldn't endanger the neighbors. And then I waited 40 minutes for the animal control officer to arrive."
In that scenario the DA would be filing murder charges.
And that is why people are outraged. Failing to respond like any sane person would in such a situation indicates a grave level of institutional failure, or an utterly depraved intentional action.
Wasn’t that the off duty BP agent?
Take a few shots from a 9mm with a soft vest on. The shock can be incapacitating.
And don’t the cops have AR15s in their car trunks? Remington shotguns?
“And don’t the cops have AR15s in their car trunks? Remington shotguns?”
Most do, at least the ones I know.
They need to start prosecuting coward cops. Anyone who won’t do his job should not be a cop.
Stopping unarmed parents from rescuing their children, while it may have been the correct action, is an image that they will not be able to sweep away so easily.
None of this would have happened if the perp hadn’t been let go by the shrinks who had the threatening monster in their hands. They simply recognized a kindred spirit and let him loose to wreak havoc. This is their MO to keep their funding coming. “Oh there are so many loonies out there. Give us billions to control them.” They control no one. They create them.
Yes, part of that story is correct. Only the guy in the barber chair was not the one who shot Ramos. Another Border Patrol agent on the “elite tactical team” did. He did, along with other Border Patrol Agents, help to clear other classrooms and get the children out of the building.

I think if these cops have souls they will spend the rest of their lives wishing they could go back to that one moment when they decided to not try to help the kids.
“Walker, Texas Coward”
Someone wedged the door open
Who?
