The irony is, across the street from where I lived, there is a nature preserve, and the weeds there, well, they grow up free and unemcumbered. Not 200' away.
Yeah, time for weeds and speed traps, but when real crime shows its ugly head, its all 'don't want to be put at risk'.
It is not the police job to protect citizens.
The supreme court decided that years ago.
In the eyes of the law THEY DID NOTHING WRONG.
These cops need to be fired - and the ones in charge need to be tried for murder.
Again, we don’t know exactly what happened or what MIGHT happen if they do Y instead of X. This is why they develop protocols. Instead of just rushing in. Never mind too often they do NOT have the info as in these calls.
Is it bad? Sure. But communications often are. And if something bad or even worse happened because cops “do something” then we’ll still be screaming how terrible they are.
Can’t prove a negative.
Not big on blame games until the details are all out.
But yes, it sure does seem we’ve adopted the wussy approach to mass murder like this.
Look what happened at the CA church. Taiwanese don’t go for this “don’t do this let the police handle it” and captured the Chinese mass murderer before more killed. Of course they were right there and could see what happened.
Teacher went out to get her/his phone and decided to wedge the door when coming back in. ?????
If the bad cops are committing crimes, arrest them.
If the bad cops are just being cowards or a-holes, you know as well as I do that bad actors can be driven out by social pressure.
Your crime was to be a law-abiding taxpayer. They know you will pay the bills and fines. The arrest was probably to meet some bureaucratic quota. They knew you would come quietly.
The drug house down the street now. They will be left alone. Except when the cops come to get their cut.

Yeah. I mean the law is the law, but handcuffing me in front of my children was a bit over the top. All the guards at the lockup (I spent the night in jail) kept telling me, was, dude, get a weed wacker...
Saw that earlier. Another case of anything that could go wrong or could be done wrong WAS. Bit suspicious.
I dont think that is in the cards.

There are reports that one of the teachers killed propped open the door. Too easy to blame it on her. I saw a map of the teachers classroom 111and 112 are link together. I thought both teachers were from this double room. That room is pretty far away from the propped door.

The single result of the FBI investigation will be about “children” having access to guns, gun-loving MAGA types, the threat of domestic terrorism, the need for higher teacher pay, elimination of the 2nd Amendment, and the need for gun confiscation...
These typical yellow-bellied cops will be exonerated and the protesting parents, who caused the really serious part of this event, will be charged...
After all, those disruptive parents (clearly potential domestic terrorists) prevented the cops from getting their fair share of the donuts and coffee being served at the scene...

It sounds like the murders had been over/completed, and the police faced a “Mexican standoff” with an armed and barricaded shooter.
Starting out, he was wearing a vest, planned to leave the scene afterwards, abandon his rifle, retreat back to the truck which contained his other rifle, and escape.
He expected to survive and read of his name and “exploits” in the news.
Since police rehearsals were done in Uvalde schools, key elements were misplaced or forgotten
