We’re seeing some strange things in modern society and all signs point to the fact that famine is coming. Within the US, drought on the plains is making is so that winter wheat can’t grow while up in North Dakota there’s so much water that farmers’ fields are too waterlogged for anybody to do any planting. I have my suspicions.
American farmers that are able to get out into the field are having a hard time finding critical components they need to their machinery.
Two children were just hospitalized due to a lack of infant formula within America. When have you ever heard of that happening before?
We’ve witnessed a lot of talk about smallpox pandemics over the course of the past two years, Germany is now gearing up for another wonderful “simulation” wargaming a pox pandemic originating from leopards, and now, monkeypox is popping up throughout the world. As of this writing, there are 9 cases in the UK, possibly 21 in Portugal, 23 suspected in Spain, 13 suspected in Canada, and 1 in the United States. The initial reports all stated that this was from an infected man flying back from Nigeria on a commercial plane.
Monkeypox isn’t something I’m terribly concerned about as of yet. I am having a hard time finding the R0 of monkeypox (the number of new people infected on average from a single case) It’s just something I’m keeping my eyes on. What I am concerned about is the public health response.

I should also mention that the one radio station still had lots of calls coming in for help for people who had nothing stored up and trapped in their homes.
City gas was still on, city water was still on. I had every Coleman lamp and kerosene lamp lit throughout the house for light. So many did not even have kerosene. I heard on the radio some man willing to SELL HALF a bottle of lamp oil.
When the food is thawing....fire up the canner!
Not trying to be an asshole but a rotor changeout takes about two hours per side And I’m old.
I’ve read that the reason they rationed tires was not because there was a shortage of rubber but because they didn’t want people driving and using gasoline. They needed the gasoline for the troops.
Bloop ... are those in the burbs ready to repell borders is what is really at issue, because when people in the cities start to get really hungry they are going to take trips tot he burbs to refill their kitchens.
Kicks my ass but I get it done. 3/4 HD Chevy 4x4.
As long as the “country folk” have a penny in their pocket and food in the field the city folk will be just fine. There will always be something for the government goons to steal and give to the city for votes.
You have got to learn how fix your truck.Been doing it for years. I average 400k or more off of my Chevies. Regular oil changes and such. 40 years pulling trailers.
The only handle more wackadoodle than “Organic Prepper” I can think of would be “Vegan Prepper.”
That could be. Although like gasoline, tires were made from petroleum so it could have been both.
My dad was in charge of the 7 1/2 ton Mack “prime movers” in a WWII anti-aircraft battery. Heavy trucks pulling heavy guns on bad roads. They went through a lot of tires.
Atlanta police told county police they could not stop the rioters, who were headed for the river bridge.
The president of the HOA was a Nam vet, former colonel of artillery. He organized every veteran in the HOA - non vets supplied firearms and ammo where needed. They set up positions on the county side of the bridge, along the railroad embankment, all dug in behind extra RR ties and piles of gravel. Then they put barricades and road flares on the bridge.
The rioters arrived - saw the flares and the barricades - started across the bridge. I believe one warning shot was fired. They decided they had business elsewhere.
This happened before I moved to the area, but I heard all about it from several participants (including the bird himself). They were glad they didn't have to shoot anybody.
Aden Tate needs a cup of coffee and a puppy. Cheer up, mate. It is easy to be cynical, cowardly and unhappy. It is the natural default mode of humans. It is difficult to be positive, courageous and happy. It just takes coffee, a puppy and thriftiness.
So YOU are the one who bought up all the canned chicken and rice ;)
I don’t think we have ever been thru a “good famine” in USA...At least in my lifetime...
My spouse worked multiple jobs to get thru school—during school, nights, summers—whatever it took...
In no way was that a famine...
In Midwest, they could not rely on benevolence of elderly tourists...
City dwellers? Why yes; the ghettopotami have been storing up fat for years.

Clever and true...
There are these vans then come up from the city (Philly). They come from “food deserts” with piles of government money and professional cart fillers, strip the shelves of suburban supermarkets bare of that week’s hoarding fad, and drive it all back down to their peeps.
I know their schedules and routes.
You’re probably not wrong
already happening and is happening on Amazon
Try to buy five cases of dinty Moore beef stew. They limit you to four. Go back a few days later to buy more and you’ll get a message that you’re cut off.
...that is all
He couldn’t get the rotors in the first place. They’re getting scarcer.
