Levin: the birther tactic is crap, here's relevant statute:
---------------------------------------
8 U.S. Code § 1401 - Nationals and citizens of United States at birth....

RDMercEER:
It didn't matter where Obama was born, it doesn't matter where Ted Cruz was born, it didn't matter where John McCain was born, it didn't matter where George Romney was born. The phrase “natural born Citizen” has a specific meaning: namely, someone who was a U.S. citizen at birth with no need to go through a naturalization proceeding at some later time. If one of your parents was a US citizen, which is the case in all four examples, you are a natural born US citizen.
This has been Levin's contention all along. Dishonest leftists, such was Pruto and whoisyourdaddy may want to do a little research, before spouting our their Alinskyite lies. Can either of you provide a link where Mark Levin said Obama couldn't be President because he wasn't a natural born US citizen?
I still don't think Obama was born in Hawaii, but it is a moot point, because at least one parent was a US citizen (and with the possibility of Frank Marshall Davis being his real dad, perhaps both). By birth status, he has every right to be the president.

You are suggesting that our talking might aid in achieving something politically? I haven't seen that happen yet, but we can always hope.
dont forget missing records at national archives....
Says who?
Mark Levin is wrong.
Here is why. The game in the Middle Ages was for noble families to enter marry so that there could be claims on thrones. You could be King of England and king of Scotland and King of France by birth. Vattel, who wrote the Law of Nations, specified Natural Born as “Two Citizen parents on Sovereign soil”. There was NO QUESTION of citizenship at birth in this circumstance. This is wherein it was derived for the writing of the Constitution. We know this because the writers and main players in the writing of the Constitution all checked out Vattel’s work from the NYC library. They did not accept British Common law, and did not consider themselves to be American Natural Born citizens (out clause of eligibility if born before 1790).
Under Mark Levin idea, you can be King of Jordan AND President of the United States. The founding fathers wanted no such entanglements. Hence, why they choose NBC for POTUS and VPOTUS requirements.
What brought this up again recently?
No you can't. Such a claim is just plain foolish.
I just read the statute Levin cited. It applies to US citizenship not natural born.
8 U.S. Code § 1401 - Nationals and citizens of United States at birth
No mention of natural born in the statute. The constitution states natural born citizenship required.
Levin needs to go back to the well.
Neither is Donald Trump, Jr. apparently. So much for him taking over from his dad.
What's with Levin anyway? I thought he shook the magic spell that Ted Cruz cast over Levin. Guess not.
The only thing Ted Cruz is good for is a few good speeches and his clever off-the-cuff remarks.
I don't want him anywhere near the Presidency because he's bought and paid for! Can't be trusted.
Levin is full of shit. If one parent is not a citizen, the child inherits that citizenship at birth along with the citizenship of the other parent. The result of “dual” citizenship parents is “duel” citizenship birth. The child can be a citizen of either country or both. Natural born citizenship can only apply to a birth from parents of the same citizenship and under the political jurisdiction of the country they are citizens of. The child can ONLY be a citizen of the same country, thus natural born citizen.
That is correct, anyone born with more than one nationality is not naturally an American.
It was that split allegiance that the founders were prohibiting.
Mom is US citizen, your Dad knocks her up here in the US. You succeed to the king of Jordan, and then run for POTUS using Jordanian treasury money. Under Levin you win election and commit US forces to Jordan Jihad…….
Mark Levin is Wrong. Vattel means both parents and no question divided citizenship at birth.
Says who?
Indonesian law says that, according to excerpts which were posted on Free Republic around a decade ago.
No, i'm not going to bother looking it up. I'm just telling you what I saw that other people posted.
But the point is actually pointless anyway. Whether Indonesia recognized Obama as an Indonesian citizen or not, US law is not constrained by what Indonesian law does or does not do.
Indonesian law cannot revoke American citizenship. Only a citizen (or congress through statute) can revoke a citizen's citizenship. Obama's parents couldn't do it.
Under the Constitution you do not. There are residency requirements and prohibitions against holding foreign titles that would prevent you from being King of Jordan and President of the U.S.
And why is Donald Trump Jr. not a "natural born citizen"?
In addition, a natural born citizen does not require a law or statute to become one. You either are or you aren’t. Levin quoting a statute destroys his argument right off the bat. He is not one of us. Levin is one of them acting like he is one of us. It’s what their side does all of the time.
Remember age of majority was 21 at the time so it would make sense.
And I remember my brother worried because he had not lived in the US for seven consecutive years after he was 14. But then his wife got her American citizenship before the kids came along.
Levin thinks he knows it all. He doesn’t.
He wasn’t alive when the constitution was written. He can’t know what they meant by “Natural Born Citizen” UNLESS he looks to Emmerich de Vattel, The Law of Nations (1758), which is where everyone at the time knew what the definition of natural born citizen was/is.
Levin, “ya big jerk!”
In other words, it is entirely possible that Levin never actually said what is being attributed to him in this thread because the source is complete garbage.
