Americans’ vaccination status against Covid-19 is likely to influence how they spend the holidays this year, as a new Harris poll finds that vaccinated Americans are broadly hesitant of spending time with unvaccinated family members and friends—including at holiday gatherings.
he poll, conducted from September 17 to September 19 among 2,055 U.S. adults, including 1,454 vaccinated ones, found 50% of vaccinated respondents are either “extremely” or “considerably” hesitant to spend the holidays with unvaccinated family members or friends.
Only 38% said they were not hesitant about making holiday plans with the unvaccinated, while 12% said it’s a non-issue because all their family and friends have gotten the shot.
A slightly larger share of 52% of vaccinated respondents said they would be very or somewhat uncomfortable about attending a holiday dinner or gathering knowing some attendees are unvaccinated....

Thank you for expanding. Any idea what source he was using for the 50 fatalities figure? I’d like for it to be spread around. I am surprised it would be published anywhere.
I think 50 is lowballing the fatality risk. But even if that number is accurate and so is the number for auto accidents, most of which I understand occur less than 30 miles from home, it’s not as if people can avoid being in vehicles and really have much of a life or fulfill one’s obligations. After all, one has to get into a car (or bus, which still can have an accident) to go visit mom in the nursing home to make sure they are treating her right.
One can avoid the risk of the vaccine by not taking it.
My aunt argued to a friend that 10K people have died from the vaccine. The friend thought that was fine because of all the people who are saved, such as elderly people like herself. She saw no problem at all that people like that 37-year-old mom of young kids died from the clot shot.
The media and others see him as God-like. He sure as heck does not affect who I see at any time during the year. If you’ve been seeing people now, why should the holidays be any different?

Adults make their own decisions and that's the way it should be in a free society. I have a responsibility to others that if I'm sick with symptoms I should stay home/isolate until I get better. Otherwise, I have no responsibility for a stranger's good health be it physical, mental or financial ... these things are an individual responsibility. Cheers!

The COVID vaccine doesn’t protect you from other people. It protects you from COVID.
Not sure why America doesn’t get this simple thing. You get a flu shot every year, you are protected from the flu. NO one mandates it, you either get the flu shot or you don’t.
Divide the united, cause economic chaos, create uncertainty in every direction, open the borders, spend money like drunken lotto winners, restrict travel and movement, and peddle fear 24/7 etc etc.
It’s the plan and has been the plan for many years.

I have to say that the people I know who have had the shots seem confident that they’re protected. They have no problem interacting with us who aren’t “vaxed”, and don’t avoid us. In fact, they are glad they have freedom to be out there among everyone.
Those are the ones who have the ability to draw on logic, as flawed as the premise might be.

I’m trying to figure out why this is a problem.
It was a religious conference. 700 was the maximum number allowed by the venue. These were people who were naturally inclined to be skeptical because they trust neither the government nor the media (but I repeat myself).
The world is acting like children with irrational and illogical fear. Government and business is taking advantage of it.
