The chaos in Afghanistan could have reportedly been avoided altogether if President Joe Biden had accepted the Taliban’s initial offer for the U.S. to have full control of Kabul and the airport.
According to a report from the Washington Post, as the Taliban began taking control of Afghanistan, senior U.S. military leaders met with Taliban political leader Abdul Ghani Baradar in Doha, Qatar, where an offer was made for the United States to have control of Kabul until all U.S. troops had withdrawn; the offer was declined.

Agreed, it doesn’t sound right.
This would have been like offering control of all of Houston TX (also 4 million people ) and not just the main airport at Houston.
The number of troops needed to control Kabul would have been astronomical and would never have been enough. Lots of juicy targets for the Taliban to ambush.
Those troops would have needed thousands of the armored vehicles and heavy weapons left in Afghanistan to control Kabul. Then, how would you ever get them all out?
This is a foolish argument by Biden’s Leftist enemies to further discredit Biden by trying to convince the gullible who have no idea of the ridiculous scope of the offer (if indeed such an offer was made ).
Let’s not just discount this out of hand as BS.

What’s interesting about this is that (true or not) it shows that people like Mark Milley are leaking to throw Biden under the bus and save themselves. These stories aren’t coming from nowhere, someone (single unverified source, of course, because this is modern garbage journalism) is leaking them out to make Biden look bad and the Generals look good. Jackasses like Mark Milley called Trump Hitler (out lout in public to subordinates!) and wanted him gone so I have ZERO sympathy for him lying about how he had a flawless plan but Biden messed it up. Lying sack of excrement. He owns this lost war every bit as much as Biden and may everyone remind him of it ever day of the rest of his pathetic and miserable life.
This article says more about the biases and delusions of the Washington Post than it does about the failures of the Biden regime.
The real causes of the Afghan debacle are:
1. The decision to suddenly withdraw all military and support personnel.
2. The failure to warn or coordinate the withdrawal with the Afghan Army, other friendly countries and with American and foreign civilians still inside the country.
3. Abandoning the ultra-secure Bagram Air Base in favor of using the Kabul Airport.
Declining their offer is in lock-step with Alinsky’s principles, guaranteeing a maximum of panic and confusion.
They fear this man, LtCol Scheller.
Every one of them is a brutish throwback with chromosomes missing....and none of them are fully evolved. I don't see or recognize a distinction between one splinter group and another. They're all dedicated to their mindless blood lust and so-called ‘religion’ with its fetishistic practices and pathological extremes of ‘piety’!
True or not, this is like every other opportunity the Joek had and declined because he did not want to put in the troops necessary to hold anything other than the few in place, barely enough to hold the airport - a political decision, not a military one - although he found generals there who willingly went along with his Plan to destroy the USA.
This is the greatest modern day cluster-f in American history.

It is looking more and more as if the Afghanistan debacle was intentionally designed to discredit Joe Biden, by the puppet masters controlling him, to justify and trigger his removal from the Presidency.
WaPo says they spoke with multiple sources gov/military, Taliban and people in Afghanistan.
