Yesterday, ‘President’ Biden violated his oath of office when he announced that the CDC was extending its illegal moratorium on evictions for another two months. Thus, the “fundamental transformation” of the United States from a constitutional Republic to a lawless Dictatorship continues. Biden is knowingly acting in defiance to both the Supreme Court and his own legal advisers.
At the end of June, a majority of the justices on the Supreme Court agreed with a lower court decision that the CDC had exceeded its authority in imposing a moratorium on evictions and mortgage foreclosures. Despite this acknowledgement of the lawlessness of the CDC moratorium, Justice Brett Kavanaugh voted with the liberals on the court to leave the ban on evictions in place because of its pending expiration and “because those few weeks will allow additional and more orderly distribution of the congressionally appropriated rental assistance funds.”
But Kavenaugh also wrote in his separate concurrence:
“In my view, clear and specific congressional authorization (via new legislation) would be necessary for the CDC to extend the moratorium past July 31.”
Biden ignored this clear indication that the majority on the court agrees that the CDC moratorium was illegal and could not be extended, even on extra-legal pragmatic grounds, past July 31. Furthermore, Biden even acknowledged that he was disregarding the opinions of legal scholars who told him that this action would be unconstitutional.
“I’ve sought out constitutional scholars to determine, what is the best possibility that would come from executive action or the CDC’s judgment? What could they do that is most likely to pass muster, constitutionally? The bulk of the constitutional scholarship says it’s not likely to pass constitutional muster, number one [emphasis added]. But there are several key scholars who think that it may, and it’s worth the effort.”
In plain English, what Biden is saying that he is willing to take any action he wants if he thinks he can get away with it, even if he knows the action is unconstitutional. He didn’t even try to make an positive argument about how this action was constitutional. Instead, Biden is announcing that he is willing to act unlawfully and will seize as much power as possible. This is the action of tyrannical dictator, not that of a legitimate president sworn to uphold the rule of law and the constitution.
It’s OK. Demonrats don’t have to obey the law or follow the Constitution.
Totally illegal...First because there’s money involved and that takes Congress...and second because the Court has already said it has ended.
And Republicans are where?
Don’t forget his interference with interstate commerce with this insane new mileage tax they want to impose.
It’s just theft.
Biden even said it was probably unconstitutional.
Good chance the purpose is to drive mom and pop landlords out of business so Wall Street and banks can buy on the cheap. No wonder they backed the Democrats so much in the last election.
The other thing I want to know is who died and made the CDC boss?
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I kind of agree with the eviction moratorium, a little bit. But, I think the property owners should be getting some help, too.
It should have never been done in the first place, especially by some fantasy edict from the CDC. But, the lockdowns have destroyed this country. Businesses will never reopen. Folks will never get their jobs back.
Of course, I’ll now wait for the FR Army of folks that will badmouth me and anyone that: didn’t save, didn’t have the right job, didn’t choose the right career, blah blah blah blah.
Some folks were doing just fine before Fauci, Birx and the rest rode their horses in town and destroyed everything.
Blame President Trump? Not one bit. He deferred to the experts just like everyone was telling him to. He finally started saying, F*ck this, in the fall and things started getting better. But he was running for his second term, during all of this.
This whole thing, the entire mess, has been government created.
So, if they are going to extend the moratorium, as much or more protections need to be given to the property owners, as well.
Start the impeachment process early and often.

I don’t see anyone fast tracking a similar case up to the Supremes.

Problem is Biden is such a dipstick he does not realize that he is violating the Constitution and will be shot down in the end. What a jackass. I did not vote for this clown, having watched 47 years of his actions in tfederal government up until then.
Why does the CDC have any credibility at all?
The other thing I want to know is who died and made the CDC boss?

I never in my 75 years thought I would see this situation
come to pass, but here we are.
If Trump had done this the libs/dem Judges would have already slapped him down!
Democrats don’t have to follow the law or Constitution because Republicans assist them.
