It wasn’t easy to ruin California, but the Democrats have accomplished it. California’s descent is reflected in the most basic marker of third-world status: it can’t keep the lights on. My colleague Isaac Orr writes:
The abject failure of Califonia’s energy policies is becoming more apparent every day. The Golden State has taken the lead in shutting down reliable coal, natural gas and nuclear power plants and jumping feet first into a grid powered largely by unreliable wind and solar. ***
An overreliance on wind and solar has resulted in a grid that is so unreliable that the California grid operator, the California Independent Systems Operator (CAISO), has resorted to asking Californians to reduce their electricity consumption, which Center of the American Experiment has confirmed means not charging electric vehicles.

“In accordance to the principles of Doublethink, it does not matter if the war is not real, or when it is, that victory is not possible. The war is not meant to be won. It is meant to be continuous. The essential act of modern warfare is the destruction of the produce of human labor. A hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. In principle, the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects. And its object is not victory over Eurasia or Eastasia, but to keep the very structure of society intact.” “1984”
The Wuhan flu has replaced war as the elites tool of choice, but the purpose has not changed.
They’ll create another nightmare with all their electric vehicle appliances routinely choke the grid off.
Next is no water to boot.
not only have the Californication commie politicians ruined the once-Golden state’s energy system, they’ve ruined its water supply system too (not building any new water resources while the state’s population more than doubled)
and
the D policies have contributed greatly to the pricing of housing far, far out of reach of all but the rich in Cali, too
and they’ve pretty much ruined the state’s larger economy, too... yes, the electronics and biotech industries are still going strong (with more now going to other states such as TX, too!)... but thousands of small businesses and merchants are now being forced to close....
all with the highest taxes in America (possibly only excepting Manhattan and HI).... with.. no surprise...the highest cost of living too, gas there today is $4.50 a gallon (due in major part to state restrictions on supply)
and “homeless” beggars (D voters attracted by the richest paying welfare in USA) all over the place, LA SF and even into the once-peaceful suburban towns
basically, the D policies have been the chief cause of ruining a Paradisical state and turning it into a Hell Hole
(with sheit and drug needles and garbage all over the streets)
congrats, DNC! It took several decades but you ruined a great state
Atlas Shrugged was supposed to be a cautionary tale, not a documentary. Yet, here we are.
I am going on what I know here concerning water. The wife and I use 2600 gallons of water a month.
So that is 1300 gallons per person.
Do the math and you have the correct reason why that hole of a state is purposely in ruination.
The question is “Who will buy California for cents on the dollar after the once great state defaults?”
Robert Heinlein wrote a number of Sci-Fi books that he connected through a concept called “Future History”. The time line I saw once even showed the same character featured in more than one novel. So the idea of cautionary tale is not brand new.
I’ve never had a power failure.
And anyone who equates CA with the 3rd world is stupid.
It’s the richest state in the union, by miles.
“Who will buy California for cents on the dollar after the once great state defaults?”
The USA cannot afford to let CA default, though that is extraordinarily unlikely. The state is running a surplus.
But if it ever comes to that, the feds will do whatever it takes to avoid THAT economic hit.
This state is the 5th or 6th largest economy in the world.
Me neither. Except for one summer day around 1998 when there was a heat wave all across the southwest, and it was 105 in LA, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, and Las Vegas simultaneously, I can’t recall an extended power outage except for the occasional stoppage that every community experiences, including work done on the local power lines.

Way to go commies !
Utopia at last !
As soon as we natives kill all the commies, we will have our utopia.
As it is, I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
It will get worse.
China will.
Callifornia is going to secede after the 2024 elections, and the PLA Navy will be homeported in San Diego and San Francisco within 3 months.
Don't feel alone. They've been saying that here about NYC for years now.
Just running the middle class out of California.
“Let’s get the riff raff off my beach.”
“Callifornia is going to secede after the 2024 elections, and the PLA Navy will be homeported in San Diego and San Francisco within 3 months.”
Just plain stupid.
