I am going on what I know here concerning water. The wife and I use 2600 gallons of water a month.

So that is 1300 gallons per person.
Do the math and you have the correct reason why that hole of a state is purposely in ruination.

most of the populated areas of the once-golden state are in semi-desert or dry areas

which means major public works piping and pumping systems from the mountains 100 or 200 miles distant, plus reservoirs nearer the water consumers

okay on that. but none have been built in half a century while the state’s population tripled

thus, the state continues to have “droughts”.... there’s almost always plenty of available water or snow in the mountains... but the politicians have not seen fit to bring any more of it to the people who need it in so long... we call this mess “Politically-Created Droughts”
