Satire is not meant to be taken seriously. Yet Big Tech and its tools find a way to label any humor coming from the right as disinformation or fake news.
The Babylon Bee has been repeatedly victimized by this tug of war. In a public history page known as a “Talk” page on Wikipedia, editors with anonymous tags or usernames discussed whether or not the conservative satire site could “legally be considered ‘satire’?” The alleged Twitter account for Bee managing editor Joel Berry tweeted a thread about this Wikipedia incident on Feb. 18.
“There has been an ongoing effort to classify The Babylon Bee as ‘disinformation’ rather than satire,” reportedly said Berry. “They desperately want The Babylon Bee to be censored. I wonder why… .”
In the conversation referenced by Berry, an anonymous Wikipedia editor wrote, “I’ve read many Bee articles and they largely seem constitutionally unable to craft anything even resembling a joke or satirical barb.” The editor’s sentiment seems to go against Wikipedia’s discussion of objectivity when it comes to editing or submitting posts. “Assert facts, not opinions,” says the page on neutral points of view. Analysis of whether humor is funny or not is based on perspective and personality.

Babylon Bee living free and bouncing around in the rather empty heads of the progressive left.
I wouldn’t make too much out of this. Literally anyone can be a Wikipedia editor. Even I once edited a Wikipedia page. Years ago I was reading the Wikipedia biography of Adm. Grace Hopper. And the bio contained a few errors, which I fixed. My fixes were accepted.
But here’s the best Wikipedia edit of all. Back in 2016 I went to the Wikipedia biography of Hillary Clinton to check on something. And someone had edited her bio to include this:
“Hillary’s hobby is collecting pictures of women’s bums. If you have any good pictures of women’s bums, please send them to her.”
There it was, on Wikipedia in black and white. But it was taken down the next day. I sure wish I had taken a screenshot of it.
Babylon Bee living rent free and bouncing around in the rather empty heads of the progressive left.
So true. The left has gotten so uptight since they’ve made neo-Marxist “progressivism” their new religion. They just can’t find blasphemy against their new religion funny. On the plus side, conservatism is starting to look cool in comparison.
....except they can spell “Labels” correctly, without an apostrophe....
I have to admit, I got a good laugh when a Free Republic poster alerted everyone to the Wikipedia page on invertebrates. And there it was...a picture of Paul Ryan.
What it shows is that the progressives think it is true.
They are disinformation.
I tried to edit Joe Scarborough’s WIKI because it failed to mention that a dead intern was found in his office. They deleted it almost in real time. I did this 5 times with the same result.
I went to the Miami Dolphins Wiki page and said changed the number of wins during their 1991 season from 8 to 10 and it stayed there for over a week before it was changed back.
“No jokes will be permitted about the Revolution, comrade.”
This brings to mind the Bee article claiming that CNN had been brought under Babylon Bee editorial control. Bee told CNN that they didn’t need to change a thing in order to become a good satire site! :)
Projection!
Every Far-LefTard I know is a humorless drone.
I’d last about 2 seconds inside their heads, then I’d pull out my pistol...
One of the funniest books I ever read was The Onion’s “Our Dumb World.”
Besides the Bee they have, “Not the Bee!”
I just signed up for their great new not real news site, Not the Bee.

That’s it, for real. Just a huge thank you for being a subscriber to the Bee or Disrn. If you’re not a Babylon ...

Wikipedia can be very helpful for many things, but anything remotely non-leftist, or political, or any hot-button issue tend to be written from an extreme leftist point of view.
