Now it seems that the PLAAF has taken it a bit further, as it conducted “simulated missile attacks” on the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) last month. According to The Aviationist, as many as 28 aircraft including as many as eight H-6 bombers “intruded” into Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) between Jan. 23 and 24 – just three days after President Joe Biden took officer.

IIRC, there are many microchips used by our military that are only made in China. Trump saw the insanity of that and tried to rectify it. Did he succeed?
This would not have happened if Trump was POTUS.
IF this were still America, Xi would fear SLBM retaliation.
“China Is Training To Sink U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers“
Of course they are.
And they may try, we better not underestimate them.
They have stolen every scrap of our technology and are not stupid people.
“ And this is news? Our aircraft carriers are the biggest show of force in the world where we are able to project our force practically anywhere. Of course they are a target.”
************
The days are numbered for our carriers as our Capital ships. We are going through the same strategic conflict that we went through during the lead up to WWII. The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor resolved the debate and answered the question whether the Battle Ship or the Carrier should be the centerpiece of a battle fleet going forward. Now, we need to review and assess our strategy again.
This is news? It would only be surprising if they weren’t planning this.
The point is to change perceptions of the balance of power and the reach of that power. As the aircraft carrier ends its heroic role as the spear point of the free world which it has maintained since December 7, 1941, the Chinese Communists want America's public and America's allies to understand the shrinking power and the shrinking scope of power that can still be projected by aircraft carriers. If not now, very soon our aircraft carriers will be driven so far offshore for their own protection as to be far less dominant.
As the perception changes, the Chinese planned takeover of Taiwan takes on a new dimension. If aircraft carrier power alone is not enough with conventional weapons to deter the Chinese, then the problem of nuclear escalation arises. The American public becomes less and less inclined to engage to protect Taiwan and, then, less and less inclined to supply Taiwan with war matériel. Similarly, our allies begin to doubt both the capacity and willingness of the United States to defend or even arm Taiwan.
The encircling alliance around China begins to break down. No one wants nuclear war and the eclipse of the aircraft carrier takes the balance of power in a new direction. That new direction changes perception entirely. We are now compelled to contemplate nuclear war if we want to support Taiwan. The Chinese up the ante and we back down.
The fact that Beijing Joe Biden stands between mainland China and the island of Taiwan utterly changes that balance of power and our allies know it.
The Chinese Communists have gained much with the release of their video.
I think our naval future lies with many smaller missile and anti-missile frigates.
They’d be stupid if they weren’t.
China had better nuke America at the same time for their will not be a localized incident where they shoot down our aircraft or sink our ships.
Bide might need to grow the balls to tell China that their massive fishing fleet is destroy the ecology of the world and it must cease this 100-mile wide drag net fishing.
Grow those balls UN - tell China to stop destroying the Sea!
Yeh, tend to agree. Must say though that my crystal ball is very murky as to what it will look like. But, if the mission of the carrier battle group is to project power then it must reinvent itself. Now that virtually any of our potential adversaries have the ability to build or buy low cost hyper speed missiles regardless of size or level of technology of our defense systems they can be overwhelmed by numbers. It’s inevitable that a few missiles would penetrate and get through and take out the carriers. So, it’s my guess that in the future our big carrier groups will maintain stand-off positions with their protective screen expanded. What the future holds beyind this I have no clue.
BS. Maybe if they launch a surprise attack. After that the CVNs will be protected and used accordingly.
So why don't you go on record and state that since CVNs are now "vulnerable" we should preemptively sink every one of them now. Go ahead state that.
You mean we don’t train our military to sink their aircraft carriers and more?
The rigged election that placed all the pawns in office has caused the country to be in the greatest risk it’s ever been in.
If our safety has anything to do with the commander in chief, and it does, we're in the most dangerous position in my lifetime.
They do seem like big ol’, expensive, sitting-duck dinosaurs of the sea, if you will compared to how far China essentially gor with a souped-up cold virus.
Indeed troubled times ahead for the next few years.
