I saw people say Lagoa is the better pick because her Circuit Court confirmation got 85 votes. I can’t believe people are naïve enough to believe that would be the case if she got the SCOTUS nomination.

I don’t know why people want her, because she said she’s pro life? Joe is too, in his private life. So is Nancy the Catholics, in her private life. Haven’t heard an actual philosophy based reason to pick her. She’s a woman and made Feinstein upset. That seems to be her only attractive qualities. Also, she adopted from Haiti. Was every I dotted and every T crossed? What is she willing to do to make sure that any mistakes or wrong doings in that process don’t come out?

Agreed, and excellent analysis, when Trump confirmed that a FEMALE was going to be nominated he stopped short of announcing her by name but unless he has another female at the TOP of his short list it looks like Amy will get the nod and likely will get confirmed.
The Left hates mothers period. They want to control every part of parenting. How to conceive to feeding to, working, school, where to live, religion, etc. The Left started programming and dividing mothers from pre birth classes to post birth feeding home visits.ACB is probably well aware of the feminist hatred towards motherhood.

She’s a good choice for a Ginsburg replacement. Has an actual record of taking right-leaning positions unlike some of the other names in the rumor mill. Of course, nothing is a guarantee, but my take is that the Supreme Court is too important to place one’s hopes on an enigma. Those have a tendency of going really bad for us after awhile. You get a year or two of very solid conservatives votes out of them as they adjust to their new role before they swing to the Left.
Anyone that President Trump nominates will be excellent.
I don’t see why it HAS to be a woman. Such thinking, disqualifying men, is no different than Biden’s thinking - a gender-centric discrimination.
I would like to see an Evangelical Christian be appointed. We are, and have been for a very long time, Catholic-heavy on this court (5 currently.) That is one reason it has swung so inexorably to the left. Two others are Jews (not including Ginsberg). The one non-catholic Protestant still has a strong Catholic background. How is that “balanced?”

85 votea is a red herring. No way is she a by the book type and got 30 Democrat votes in this environment. Remember, Mattis got almost every vote in his confirmation. How did that turn out? The two girls who have been talked about would both be bad picks as far as I can tell from the very limited information out there. Concerned that Trump has said it will be a woman.
