I don’t see why it HAS to be a woman. Such thinking, disqualifying men, is no different than Biden’s thinking - a gender-centric discrimination.
I would like to see an Evangelical Christian be appointed. We are, and have been for a very long time, Catholic-heavy on this court (5 currently.) That is one reason it has swung so inexorably to the left. Two others are Jews (not including Ginsberg). The one non-catholic Protestant still has a strong Catholic background. How is that “balanced?”
