When I was about 17, I decided to go vegan (I was trying a lot of things at the time, including getting my nose pierced, which I considered a serious act of rebellion). Anyway, I mentioned my new veganism to the guy I was seeing at the time, and to my surprise, he seemed really annoyed. He responded with an uninterruptible lecture on the importance of supporting British farmers. I can still remember one of his appalled, patronising texts: “_Oh god, you’re not gonna become one of those vegan feminists, are you??_”

I was confused. He hadn’t come across like someone who hated “vegan feminists” – so where had this come from?

Okay, all of this reminded me of something from many years ago.

I was playing a gig at a bar, and we were on a break. I tended to keep my horn with me, so no one would mess with it.

A guy offered to buy me a drink if I serenaded his girlfriend. I said no.

Why not?
Because if I do, she'll be going home with me, and not with you.

That is a true story. I did play a few notes of 'Misty' in their direction, just to appease them.

I was single about 12 years ago and I remember that people had to agree on so many things.. and if one thing was off it was game over.

For me that woman better be pro gun and pro life. Everything else can be dealt with. But for the women I had to absolutely meet about 20 benchmarks. My wife had the least amount bit also discovered exactly how much “I only own a bike” improves a man’s sex appeal.

And a nice paycheck.

I doubt “women are much more liberal”.

Don’t buy into the hype. The slight liberal edge - statistically insignificant - often shown for all women (in this country) is likely partly due to the 10% voters (black) who vote 90% liberal.

And even if more women are liberal, that doesn’t mean any given woman is “MUCH MORE” liberal than any given man.

Find a place with a car lift
Get a ladder
Lift the car
unbolt the transmission
put a board under the engine block
slowly drop the car until you can get to the plugs
Get up on the ladder
Replace plugs
Reverse

Oh wait.

That was how I replaced the motor mounts on my V8 Satellite.

The term “vegan” is the declaration of an extreme left political position that includes feminaziism and especially food fascism against those around you who do not agree with your choice.

If you want to just eat cow food, the term is “vegetarian.”

I don’t think it’s that much of a conspiracy, though it attracts those kinds of people.

“Vegan” seems to have been developed to indicate “pure vegetarian”, since the latter was being used by people who would eat seafood and eggs or even fish.

Agreed, the word should be vegetarian, but maybe instead the stupid made-up word should be used for those who bastardize with animal proteins. They got it mixed up.

Decades ago I took a nice girl out for pizza and a beer. She went on and on about how killing a deer was atrocious. Never called her again, I knew by that she was a liberal who made decisions on emotion and not fact and didn’t want to argue with that forever.
