So I've been watching Tucker Carlson's tonight about the riot at Minneapolis as well as the news article about the death of George Floyd. I read that George Floyd was an African American male apparently was "killed" by a white police officer during the arrest with bystanders witnessing the supposed killing. Regardless, Floyd was pronounced dead at the hospital. Societies erupted with anger about Floyd's death. They protest and riotas hard as they could, even if other businesses have to suffer when those businesses are already suffering from the lockdown (whether it still exist or not). Now if the race was reversed (Floyd was a white man and the police officer was a black man), do you think societies will erupt with protest/riots?
But to answer your specific question, there wouldnt have been riots
I watched the store camera that was rolling just prior to his death. It appeared that the officer that handcuffed him and was talking to him was black, or perhaps muslim??
The store camera showed Floyd being walked across the street (cuffed behind his back). As he got closer to the police car (I assume to be placed into) his legs appeared to be wobbly - or perhaps he was trying to make the officers work to support him as he got close.
Right before the video is blocked by another police car, it appears that Floyd missed the step at the curb and toppled to the ground.
The store camera quits, but I wonder if that is what the new cop (not involved in the original stop and cuffing) took to be “resisting arrest” and “subdued” Mr. Floyd.
As in the case of Arbery almost getting tazed in the park (”Oh - I already checked him for weapons”) - these cops need to work on their communication skills and establishing some sort of protocol on who is in charge at the scene.
Perhaps there needs to be riots?
Not about race but about police over reach.
There have been many cases of police killings from the man killed in the hall, to the woman killed in her living room by a shot through the window, to this terrible event and many many more.
Perhaps it is time to end this sort of militarization of our police against us.
The Commanding officer shares the same blame/questions - just as much the four officers that were fired.
Not about race but about police over reach.
Perhaps but that is not what this is about. This is about race and the MSM is happy to oblige.
they would have come up with another excuse, we’ve known for some time organized rioting has been planned and this is right according to the template
All the way up the chain of command.
It’s not worth the effort to discuss.
It probably would have made a difference, and that’s unfortunate.
As it is, this killing feeds the narrative of the lowest, most vile racialists on both sides of the black/white divide, when it should be only a narrative about the actions of the people involved, the reasons it happened, and how to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.

Firstly, it would have happened less often.
strange response.........
It kind of reminds me of this incident - this clip cuts off before the man gets shot, but whats important is how the cop kept giving instructions until the person was unable to do them ...and was shot.

By the way, just to be clear MOST police officers are good citizens. But there is a significant minority who are anything but civil. Also, its not a white cop vs Black person issue. The video above is white cop vs white person, and a person I know who is former MARSOC (and white) posted a video of a black police officer harassing his place of business. Thus its not a color issue but rather a power-over-citizens issue
Exactly. Yes, these riots are about race and the race baiters are abetting them.. further, I’m a supporter of shooting looters and arsons. But..had that cop showed better self-restraint, it wouldn’t have gotten to that point.
That’s who I thought of immediately...Justine Damond
Nothing. There wouldn’t have been riots though. I don’t understand the concept of burning down businesses that had no part in any of it.
Mob mentality knows they can now use their displeasure and anger for other uses that benefit the rioter personally, looting. With the media on board, the politicians hiding and the police hamstrung they can get away with looting and destruction and no will will do anything to stop them.
Great answer. All the white guilt, cop-hating Freepers here FINALLY found their rally point after all these years. They waited for Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Aubry etc. This is it. I’ve said it before, FR has a lot of anti-LEO trolls on the board and they have been here many years.
I have to disagree. They do not speak out when other cops do wrong. They cover each other's asses.
I think the rioting behavior only makes the police more aggressive toward them in future problems. Most police are good; a few are bad. The few bad endanger the lives of the others.
I agree. Rioting and personal gain are the reasons for the riots.
