Presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke (D., Texas) said he would strip religious institutions of their tax exempt status if they oppose same-sex marriage.
"We are going to stop those who are infringing upon the human rights of our fellow Americans," the former congressman said during CNN's Equality Town Hall on Thursday.
CNN host Don Lemon pressed O'Rourke on the particulars of his plan for LGBT Americans.
"Do you think religious institutions like colleges, churches, charities, should they lose their tax exempt status if they oppose same sex marriage?" Lemon asked. O'Rourke answered with an unequivocal yes, and stressed that as president, he would make punishing religious organizations a priority.

Well, I did find it interesting that Lemon did not mention mosques (see below). And I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the left exempted mosques because of “cultural differences.”

The only rational answer to that is if Beto believed that churches themselves should be compelled to perform same-sex marriages, but that's not actually what he's saying.
So he's left making a stupid argument about something that doesn't matter. It's just blatant pandering to gays, but it's stupid pandering.
Beto is just a really, really strange guy guy.
Make no mistake here, this is the clear path of the Democrat Party tyrants.
They want everyone, under the heavy boot of the government’s power, to conform to their way of thinking. This is no different than any other totalitarian dictator that has ever walked the planet and murdered millions of their own people.
It is why Democrats booed God three times. It is why Democrats want to take our guns. It is why Democrats are pining to use force to stop any possible means of dissent from their religious ideology.
Because within two years this will be a main plank of the Democrat Party platform.
