If it seems like the number of complaints from your female friends about not being able to find a man is growing, we may finally know why. Somewhere between 1979 and 2008, Americans decided it was much less worth it to get hitched: the share of 25- to 39-year-old women who were currently married fell 10 percent among those with college degrees, 15 percent for those with some college, and a full 20 percent for women with a high-school education or less.
This great American marriage declinea drop from 72 percent of U.S. adults being wed in 1960 to half in 2014is usually chalked up to gains in women's rights, the normalization of divorce, and the like. But it also a lot to do with men. Namely, economic forces are making them less appealing partners, and it ties into everything from China to opioids.

Exactly. The government stepped in with many programs to ease the burden of being unmarried (welfare). And, it also tilted the tables against men in divorce. Both of the above empowered women; the second at the special expense of men rather than the taxpayer in general.
Why American men are getting less marriageable>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Who wants to get married when you can either have friends with benefits or py for it ? ( sarc.)
In fact today very few women want to have children, or know how to raise them. American men frequently go outside the country to find women who want families, want to raise children and be home makers.
If American men are less marriageable, its double that for women being less marriageable. For example who would want to marry a #me too screaming idiot who wants to be a victim for the sake of ideology and identity politics? The last thing they have in mind is bearing and raising children.
#13 - All excellent points!
I am seeing it every day. We cant find qualified Americans for the technology we use, but we can get a foreigner who was subsidized to come here and study it. I would not be able to get my job either. From a major technical school, a BA is no longer enough.
I married a great woman, no role issues. Keep it simple, stupid.
Boot their arse out to the curb!
This is post of the day!
With the current "court" system it's usually cheaper to keep her.
Just read another statistic saying divorces are at a low. At one time 1/2 of marriages ended in divorce. Now its 1/3. Progress.
this is of the new marriages each year, and does not include existing marriages.
I’m the father of four adult kids. All are very moral and Christian.
For my daughters its very sad that they have lots of male and female friends yet very few marriages.
I think the culture has turned many people both male and female off to the idea of marriage and it’s simply pathetic.
The church doesn’t really seem to do anything to help that. Kids graduate and often disappear.
The brainwashing of individualism over family. Government dependency for safety net over family. Total disregard and disrespect of family members.
Free milk.
It's not the culture ... it a natural result of the 19th amendment.
“I think the culture has turned many people both male and female off to the idea of marriage and its simply pathetic.”
If people have sex outside of marriage, why get married?
Orrrr:
American women are less marriageable.
Living as a man in a matriarchy sucks. Throughout human history matriarchies have been rare and they tend not to last long as they were swamped by other cultures that were male dominated. Learned that from and undergraduate degree in Anthropology.
Also, women are not all that interested in men that they see as subordinate of inferior to them. Learned that from direct observation.
China raised a generation of snowflakes too, since the One Child policy mandated a nation of only children.
A lot of the well paying jobs are going TO THESE WOMEN who then don’t like their prospects because they want somebody who makes more than they do.
