To everything (purr, purr, purr)
There is a season (purr, purr, purr)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to faceplant, a time to leap
A time to kill, a time to play
A time to ignore, a time to prey
To everything (purr, purr, purr)
There is a season (purr, purr, purr)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to climb up, a time to knock down
A time to prance, a time to curl up
A time to cast away litter, a time to gather litter together
To everything (purr, purr, purr)
There is a season (purr, purr, purr)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time of love, a time of bite
A time to fierce, a time to pierce
A time you may pet, a time to refrain from petting
To everything (purr, purr, purr)
There is a season (purr, purr, purr)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to spazz down the hall, a time to sleep
A time to rend, while you try to sew
A time to rub up on your leg, a time to ignore you
A time for tuna fish, I swear it's not too late
Our new cat came to us days after we lost two who had been with us for nearly two decades. She had survived a pit bull attack in the same house.
Now she is safe with us. We believe He who is Lord sent her as a blessing.
How do they know where they are headed?
After the exam, she LEAPED from the table into the open carrier. The vet thought it hilarious. "Get me out of here daddy!"
That’s very cute. :)
I like the Byrds version, but it was written by the late leftist POS Pete Seeger.
We’ve had our differences; that was very gracious of you. Thank you!
That's why my version is better, it's not designed to weaken the United States.
I really don't know. But they do! Dogs, too. Perhaps they have learned that one journey takes them to the V-E-T (or groomer), but the next journey always results in them being HOME.
“Weve had our differences;”
If so, I don’t recall. Truthfully, I rarely notice who I’m interacting with. The topic or post itself is what I pay attention to. Getting personal makes no sense. (I do, however, recall Libbylu!)
Thanks for this...I love cats.
When I took Tasha, my calico cat, to the animal hospital in December, 2015, I asked them to remove the dozens of mats that had developed in the fur on her underside. They wound up shaving off half of her fur. But after she was shaved, they told me that she suddenly acted very happy, purring and bumping her head against objects. The mats that they removed must have caused her great discomfort.
Your song reminds me of when we were teenagers in church. We’d write parodies of hymns. Dad (preacher) was not amused when he found a couple in the back of bulletins.
I like your version as well. The Byrds, despite their ever-changing personnel over the years (McGuinn being the only constant), managed to hang in there, while much of their era was *littered* with one-hit wonders.
My sister is hand-raising a pair of orphaned kitties. It is certainly appropriate...particularly the line about sewing! I’ll have to share it with her.
So cute! =^..^=
My groomer told me that mats cause pain to cats because they are constantly putting tension on the fur and pulling on it. I groom my Maine Coon frequently, but she is very touchy about letting me groom her tummy. Funny, because she loves her tummy rubbed. So when I bring her to the groomer, nearly all mats present are on her stomach, where she wouldn't let me groom. She gives the groomer a bit of a hard time about grooming her stomach. She is never shaved, to preserve her Maine Coon beauty.
I plan to memorize it and sing it at every family reunion, even if they beg me to stop. Thank you.
I can always depend on you....
You have talent. And an obvious love for cats. tks for making me smile
