How about MANUFACTURING ‘opposition research’?

Is that legal?

HilLIARy sure didn’t complain that she paid $8 million and was given fake data.

The key phrase from the statute is “money or other thing of value”, and (to my knowledge) information given with no exchange of another thing of value has always been outside the definition of “thing of value”. Napolitano’s pronouncement otherwise that the FEC has decided this contradicts court cases that, IIRC, decided the principle.

Even Judge Nap has been sucked in.

I would be surprised if he didn't get sucked in, cause he sucks.

“...He let the left make an iron clad case for charging Clinton and the DNC with felonies. ...”

Then DO it.

As long as any of that crew walks free, it proves that some ARE above the law... just not you or I or any of us.

Yep, this is what I thought when I first heard that exchange. Taking foreign oppo research is EXACTLY what Hillary did.

So it’s either legal for her and also legal for Trump, or Hillary is in deep doo-doo.

I kept thinking last night over and over again that Trump trolled the MSM with those comments about taking foreign intel during the 2020 campaign only to hear Hillary and entire cabal squawk about how corrupt Trump was going to be. They are too stupid to see the irony or the legal jepadory. By their own admission.

Even Judge Nap has been sucked in. Asked by Fox's Shepard Smith if Trump had any "wiggle room" when it came to listening to a foreign entity offering information on a political opponent, Napolitano said no.

Shep and Nap should avoid using the word "sucked" and the phrase "wiggle room" when appearing together.

They're disgusting.

It was amusing to listen this morning to our local fake news radio station here in DC (WTOP). They interviewed Philip Bump live, who is a master propagandist and Trump hater from the Washpost. They asked why Hillary's oppo research was different from Trump's hypothetical. He insisted it was completely different and legal because they were using legal gathered campaign funds to purchse oppo research. In constrast Trump was hypothetically accepting a campaign contribution from a foreigner.

This is how the system works: if you pay the wife of a high ranking DOJ official to funnel bogus info to start a bogus investigation, that is perfectly legal. If you pay FBI informants to infiltrate and try to sting a campaign, that's perfectly legal. If you pay a scumbag like Glenn Simpson to set up a meeting to try to trap Don Jr to accepting foreign campaign contributions, that's all perfectly legal too. If nothing is accepted, no campaign contribution crime was committed. But Trump's hypothetical, info from Norway, that's the end of democracy.

Analysis of this Trump clip consumed most of the hour with O’Donnell interviewing several guests, including MSNBC contributor Jennifer Rubin, who went on an angry tirade against the President: “You have to ask a more fundamental question which is, how can anyone in their right mind and good conscience support putting this guy in office for another four years…”

Donald Trump is very fortunate in his enemies. The important ones are all unhinged and so easily manipulated.

CNN actually said last night it’s completely different because in Hillary’s case Americans asked for the information!

Can’t make this stuff up.

Donald Trump turned a $1 million loan into a multi-billion dollar fortune in the Manhattan commercial real estate market, one of the most cut-throat businesses on the planet. The guy doesn’t go to the bathroom without a plan, nor without Plans B, C and D in case Plan A doesn’t work out. People in DC, and frankly most people, don’t understand this about him. Oh, and the guy is literally out-thinking his opponents while they are sleeping.

Given the above, it is clear as day that he completely trolled all of his opposition. You think that he didn’t know that the brainless little Clinton toadie, Stephie, would try to lay a trap for him? You think that he didn’t know that the “right” answer was “of course I’d report it to the FBI?” No, he did this on purpose, KNOWING what the result would be...and wanting exactly that result.

We now have the Chairman of the FEC saying that receiving such information (just receiving it, just listening to it) is a violation of campaign finance laws. OK, fine. So if just listening to foreign sources of information is illegal, what does FINANCING such sources amount to? What does lying to the FISA Court about such a source of information amount to?

Trump laid his own trap, and quite masterfully at that. Every one of his opponents ran to jump in, like lemmings going over the cliff. They’re so stupid that even when they’re about to splat on the bottom, they still don’t understand that they’ve been had.

Mr. President, I’m STILL not tired of winning - you’ll have to try harder!

The only thing bigger than the Left’s hatred for Trump, their own self-hatred for themselves. They know how despicable they are, no matter how much the media covers for them.
