Of course it was normal life in the Islamic State, because the Islamic State adhered scrupulously to Sharia within its domains. And crucifixion is a Sharia punishment, based on the Qur’an:

I found him a few months ago and I’m addicted to his video channels.
Virtually every day he goes Live on Youtube with “Muslim only” Skipe callers in which he completely destroys Islam with their own text.
His videos run from an hour to 5 plus hours long.
It’s nuts, but I love it.
His conclusion is that Islam is a stupid Cult and he proves it.
