"I just keep a bucket of hockey pucks near my bed to throw at the bad guys."

You need to upgrade to a trap thrower loaded with a stack of clay pigeons. It's *the* happy, fun assault weapon for bedroom self-defense!

State laws very. In Nevada, these signs have no legal standing. they could ask me to leave, then press trespassing charges if I don’t. That is all.

what I would like to see is places like this being required to show proactive security if they don’t allow self-protection. And be directly liable.

There is a Nerf gun that spits out tennis balls. Wonder if it could be upgraded to use pool balls, which are about the same size.

Heh. One spouse yells, “Pull!”

The other launches a pigeon, hitting the home invader in the teeth.

The first spouse fires to hit the pigeon, just as it hits the invader in the teeth.

Result: very sorry home invader. ;-)

I’ve got a Taurus P85 .38 Special Hammerless snubbie.

Its not very accurate since the trigger pull is so heavy. Also its only 5 rounds but most self defense scenarios take place up close and with +p ammo, its powerful enough to get the job done. Its also pretty light. It is not my first choice for an every day carry though. Get a reliable automatic...probably something in 9mm or .40 cal. I happened to choose the CZ 2075 Rami which for me is very comfortable, accurate and which has either 10 rounds or 14 in the extended mag.

I've got an original Taurus Falcon .38 special revolver and a PT111 G2. Both are very reliable. The PT111 is my preferred daily carry. Taurs1-zpsjinngbig taurausmillinium-zps8gwid4rk

Fyi, i was told by a German gunsmith at WAFFEN-BENNEWITZ in K-Town, BRD in 1986 that the P225 was NEVER intended to fire any other ammo than FMJ or JHP 115 grain ammo. “Otto” stated that the magazine/feed ramp/barrel were actually DESIGNED for the 115 grain ammo.
(In my time as a “weapons committee member”, when I had access to an UNLIMITED supply of FREE 9mm ammo, I often fired 200 rounds per day X 5 days per week.)

The German Forest Service version of the P225 FLAWLESSLY loads/feeds/fires/ejects EVERY sort of 115 grain (and most 124 grain) 9x19mm ammo that I’ve tried in it, including some 300 rounds of “questionable quality” Russian-made steel-case JHP.

ImVho, IF you a LEO & face a self-defense situation that 115 grain Plus-P is inadequate to resolve, that you NEED to call for “back-up”, a patrol rifle and/or a 12-gauge riot-gun.
(As a retired LEO, I doubt that I will ever NEED more than my P225 to deal with any likely self-defense threat. = I TRUST IT.)

Just my OPINION<TMN78247

Can I just throw this out there? I just purchases a Ruger SR 22. I just realized the slide release won’t release the slide until you pull back on the slide as you push down the release lever. It will if you push very hard. This sucks! On my Mark III and SDe slams just push the slide release and the slide slams forward stripping a round out of the mag and clambering it. Nothing in the instructions state this. I called customer service and they told me you must pull the slide back as you push the slide release. Is there an aftermarket correction this issue?

I can only tell you this; my dad had a Taurus .38 Special Ultralight. It would lock the cylinder after firing a round. Had a hell of a time to get it to rotate or open after the jam occurred. Something in the mating face of the cylinder and the frame was out of whack from the factory. It was sent back for repair. It has been fixed and works perfectly now. They do have a lifetime warranty.

That’s crazy. I’m not aware of any aftermarket correction on the SR 22 but there should be. Rugers are one of my favorite firearms...I have a Ruger Mark II 77 in 270 that is the most accurate rifle I’ve ever owned. My Ruger Mini 14 Ranch is superb. The Ruger 10/22 is one of the finest rifles out there...had mine for over 20 years. I bought the Ruger LCP for concealed carry a few years ago though and have jam problems with that one. You have to keep it extremely clean to avoid a jam.

I have had one for a few years now.

I have a small hand with short fingers. My Taurus is the first hand gun that I’ve been able to comfortably reach the trigger.

Nice and light weight, easy to carry.

I was just in Sprouts. They have what I think is a new sign saying No Firearms.

Saw it my local one too. I knew they weren't talking to me. I'm harmless.

I make it a point to NOT see those “no gun” signs.

I have a model 856, the 6 shot variant of the 85. Love it, bought it used for less than $200.00

Private property. They can ask people not to carry if they want. The key work is “ask”
