Fyi, i was told by a German gunsmith at WAFFEN-BENNEWITZ in K-Town, BRD in 1986 that the P225 was NEVER intended to fire any other ammo than FMJ or JHP 115 grain ammo. “Otto” stated that the magazine/feed ramp/barrel were actually DESIGNED for the 115 grain ammo.
(In my time as a “weapons committee member”, when I had access to an UNLIMITED supply of FREE 9mm ammo, I often fired 200 rounds per day X 5 days per week.)
The German Forest Service version of the P225 FLAWLESSLY loads/feeds/fires/ejects EVERY sort of 115 grain (and most 124 grain) 9x19mm ammo that I’ve tried in it, including some 300 rounds of “questionable quality” Russian-made steel-case JHP.
ImVho, IF you a LEO & face a self-defense situation that 115 grain Plus-P is inadequate to resolve, that you NEED to call for “back-up”, a patrol rifle and/or a 12-gauge riot-gun.
(As a retired LEO, I doubt that I will ever NEED more than my P225 to deal with any likely self-defense threat. = I TRUST IT.)
Just my OPINION<TMN78247
Thanks, that is interesting.
Around 1986 I bought a Walther PP in .32. It was barely used in it’s original box with a spare mag. It had the name of some German police outfit on the slide. I wish I still had it as it was beautifully made.
