The escalation of hostility and violence in the United States is becoming undeniable. Over the past couple years alone, there have been politicians calling for increased antagonism toward Trump and his supporters, protesters (sometimes violently) confronting the police and ICE, violent clashes on the streets between Antifa and patriot groups, and many other instances that signify dark times ahead for the US. Almost one third of the nation believes a civil war is imminent. If this worst-case scenario becomes reality, who would have the upper hand?
Many on the right side of the political spectrum will hastily assume that they have the advantage because they have more guns. Republicans absolutely do own more guns, but many Democrats and Independents own guns as well. Will this advantage be enough to definitively win a war? It is hard to say.

There’s much commentary about what our military forces would do. For the most part, they would continue posture against foreign threats, which threats would be much more critical in the event of civil strife. Foreign nations would be planning and moving based on what they thought they could do with the situation to take some U.S. real estate.
So which Daniel Carter is the author? The one who was committed to a psychiatric facility, the Mormon music writer or the anarchist?

Cops won’t leave their house. Their cars will be burned in the driveway. If they do go to work chances are they won’t make it home. If the do, their house has been burnt to the ground.
Urban warfare at its finest.
Professor bike lock goes to trail August 8
I'm not sure what you mean by that, but it triggered something in my mind.
When the Right, the "normals" decide there is no more rule of law, that's when it's game on.
If there is a war, your 55 million man army will not be fighting liberals.
So the "liberals" won't be fighting a bunch of weekend warriors, no matter how you slice it. They'll be fighting trained soldiers—including U.S. Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans—both in terms of the general soldiery and the command structure...
I was just a boy scout. Know how to live off the land.
Avoid everyone, lay low during the day.
Only appear occasionally just make some general mayhem here and there.
A 100 lbs. Of roofing nails would slow them down.
The ones that don’t get stuck in your tires get flipped up for the next truck.
Shit, we have a rainstorm and traffic crawls, accidents backup traffic until nighttime
“Only appear occasionally just make some general mayhem here and there.”
Only desultory Apache type raids on waayyy outposts where you know you are going to win. Make life miserable on the margins.
Just simple stuff. Two rocks with twenty foot of wire trown over the main power lines. Shutting off water valves to fire hydrants, fill the cement, then start a fire. You know just annoying stuff.
Their problem is criminals are stupid.
Professionals aren’t
If there were a coup d’etat against Trump for instance, many many states would not recognize the new federal government and secede. That is how the system is set up to operate. It is designed that way; states rights are the fail safe.
Only on the coasts. In the heartland the leftist will be rounded up post haste. My guess in the middle of the US the leftest won't even make peep. Governors will take over and it will be business as usual.
In a general civil war the standing army isn’t even going to be an after thought or even a footnote. It’s to small, the country too vast to have any meaningful impact on the outcome.
You get it, most don't. It's just math.
500,000 man army is not going to determine the fate of a nation containing 50 semi autonomous states and 330 million people. They aren’t even a speed bump.
The only sane comment on this entire embarrassing thread.
"...shooting, shooting, shooting!..."
Dave is the best inspiration on FR.......inspires all of us.
Naw, most military leaders are right of center, after all they must complete for funding against other government programs.
More to the point, leftist commanders are just what candidate Trump promised to fix and "mad dog" Mattis is supposed to do it.
So claims that's not happening would be a matter of great interest & concern to our President.
This is why most Freepers here are armchair warriors. They do not realize how close they are coming to advocating Rwanda like horrors.
