Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and AG Jeff Sessions are working hand-in-hand on dismantling the Deep State.
Deep State corruption is deep and embedded. No normal investigation is going to cut it.

Critics of Sessions need to understand that Sessions is a prosecutor in the traditional, Wyatt Earp sense.
He doesn't camera hog
He rarely gives press releases, media interviews, or conferences.
He does the work diligently behind the scenes.
Why (Nicolas Cage from the movie "The Rock" here) IN ZEUS' BUTTHOLE! is Sessions all of a sudden a Deep State mole, when for years he's been a distinguished Senator and on the front lines on the illegal alien immigration front and was the first elected official to endorse Trump?

As the resident Sessions' butt-kisser here (In before the Sessions bashers), Sessions is doing his part in taking apart the Swamp albeit by other boulevards.
- Rosenstein was granted full immunity.
- The corruption is so embedded and thick that a normal prosecution wasn't going to cut it. Ergo, Rosenstein was hired by Trump to prosecute the Deep State because to fight corruption, you've got to use a corrupt figure so the bad guys won't know.

I think Nunes is part of the scenario you describe. I, FWIW, think Sessions recusal now will allow him to prosecute later.
And the dozens of agents it would require to investigate it all and the 100s of thousands of documents necessarily collected from various sources have all gone entirely unnoticed by those who would oppose such an effort and no one has leaked the slightest rumor of it.

Look, I don’t happen to have any strong opinion yet whether Sessions will prove to be a white hat or a black hat. I’m still hopeful that he has a lot churning behind the scenes but I’m not assuming it, either.
BUT, I don’t see how Nunes is any threat to what Sessions may be doing IF he is in fact doing a lot for MAGA in secret. The Nunes statement is just a statement. There is very very little chance (imho) that a majority of Congress would vote Sessions in contempt right now. Even if that happened, it would not derail anything that Sessions, IG, Huber, et al. may have been working on behind the scenes.
So I think you are getting worried about nothing on this, jmho.

I believe I read over the weekend that the OIG report that was scheduled to be released on May 8 has been delayed so they can pursue new avenues of inquiry. OK by me ... yes, it’s frustrating to wait and sit back now knowing, but we want it done right and completely, not half-assed so they get off on technicalities.

As far as AG Sessions goes, I agree with you. He is slow, methodical, and works out of the spotlight. When he’s ready to drop the hammer on you, you’re pretty much screwed and should get your affairs in order.
I am anxiously awaiting the IG’s report. It was supposed to be Tuesday, and now it has been put off even longer.
