Listen to Levin. He is ominous,”I can’t support anyone who promotes this”. Look either that or show Levin that there is something to this that he isn’t seeing.
Trump didn’t apologize, but he, in Trumpian fashion, attacked Politico as “thoroughly dishonest” repeatedly. That’s his way of showing support, I guess.
So true.
I don’t understand why so many are rushing to twist the truth to salvage the moment for Carson. He misstated the events to bolster his street cred.
He was at best asked to apply. If he was so naive that he thought that meant they were offering him a position without even applying that is a pitiful reflection on either his intelligence or his reading comprehension. Didn’t he have advisers or a guidance counselor he would have showed the letter to?
In any case by the time he wrote his book he was a man and surely understood that an offer to apply is not an acceptance and shouldn’t be touted as such. This is a piece with many other comments or positions he has brought forth where it is obvious he has not thought or explored a area before speaking. Not a good trait in a person running for President.
I don't think it has anything to do with "white guilt". Are you actually accusing people here on FR of having white guilt?
Criticize Carson from the right and not from the left.
Similar to the way one should not criticize Trump from the left, for example the Megyn Kelly leading question at the debate.
The fact that the media is all over this guy is a reason to actually like him.
By far not the first time Carson has had to try to clean up his remarks. He is on video crediting Mannatech with funding his endowment chair at Johns Hopkins. When the Mannatech relationship became a liability, his campaign said that Carson was just “confused”.
So is that like a full scholarship?
HOORAY Rush. Thank you, sir.
The fraudulent media is now trying to generate "sympathy votes" for poor, picked upon Ben just like they did for poor, picked upon Shrillary!
“Because I had done so extraordinarily well you know I was told that someone like me [could] get a scholarship to West Point,” Carson told the New York Times. “It was, you know, an informal âwith a record like yours we could easily get you a scholarship to West Point.’”
However, there’s no such thing as an “informal offer” (or even a “full scholarhip”): an application to West Point begins with a nomination by a member of Congress or another prominent government or military official, Ben,and don’t you know that only a Democrat like Hillary can get out of one lie by telling another lie, but that never works for a Republican? It’s part of the double standard imposed by the Democrat-PAC Media.
Oh and you don’t suppose Donald’s hand is on the invisible sword that’s hacking Carson to pieces right now, do you? Trump didn’t get rich by wasting money unnecessarily: hoisting Carson on his own petard and letting the media crucify him for free is WAY cheaper than paying for a bunch of TV ads. (BTW, we haven’t seen the end of the Carson Revelations yet. I predict there’s more to come.)
And it’s pretty clear the Democrat Super-PAC media were building up Carson and Fiorina as GOP heroes, hoping they’d be juicy targets down the road to chop to pieces like they did with Herman Caine, etc. Looks like Trump is beating them to the punch before media-heroes Carson and Fiorina could do much damage to the GOP with their lies and wackiness.

IT STATES:
ADMISSIONS DECISIONS
West Point has a rolling admissions policy. Outstanding, qualified, nominated candidates will be offered admission as their records become complete. All admissions files must be complete, to include nominations, by the last workday in February.
Financial and Service Obligation
As a cadet, you are a member of the U.S. Army and receive a full scholarship and an annual salary of more than $10,000 from which you pay for your uniforms, textbooks, a laptop computer, and incidentals. There is no tuition charge, but there is a requirement for an initial deposit. Room, board, and medical and dental care are provided by the United States Government.
Trump was right.
This IS the beginning of the end for Mr. Grain in the Pyramids.
He’s a goddamned whack job cultist.
NOT PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL.
It is going to backfire on Trump - see post 51. Carson is not lying about scholarships.
Because one can do a thing doesn’t mean one should do a thing. By now, Politico has walked back at least half of the story.
Probably as good as it gets with our Donald. But, as freeper DoughtyOne (I think) has said, what we need at this point in time is a junkyard dog. Couldn't have said it better myself.
Did Hillary apply for the Marines? For the Army? Zigzag to dodge sniper bullets? Delete 30,000 emails on yoga and Chelsea's wedding?Carson probably qualified for a number of fields and enjoyed offers thereto.
Roger Stone might plant such a slander, he the "former" Trump advisor.
Be that as it may (Be still, Ghost of Herman Cain) it is well to know the fairies and harpies of media will ignore the log in their candidate's eye while harping on the speck in our candidate's.
On policy, Carson is for TPP and against guns. He was foisted on us as a poisoned apple.
I like the wild look of yon Trump, our enemy's flesh in his teeth.
Honestly, I woke up this morning expecting the headlines on how the Politico offices were smoldering ruins today. Disappointing...
