Though officials at the World Health Organization are feverishly working to stop the spread of the Ebola virus in what is now seven African nations, their efforts may be for naught. In Guinea, a hot spot for the deadly contagion, government health officials have said that the outbreak is nearly under control. Yet, Reuters reports that the government “planned to stop publicly releasing the death toll to avoid causing unnecessary panic.”
But panic may be in order.
Despite the best efforts of emergency health workers it appears that virus may have crossed out of Africa into Europe.

medical quarantine is a good thing in terms of the public health, sucks for an individual, but when you are trying to prevent the next black plague, you do what you have to do.
The reality is the most powerful person in the united states in terms of limiting your personal freedom is the Surgeon General... and most folks have no idea.

5 H1N1 deaths at the same time in a hospital 5 min. from my house and I can’t take the flu vaccine. The CDC pointed to my town as the starting place for H1N1 flu deaths in this country this season - yes, I stayed away from people during that time.

True, including saliva, sweat, other mucosal emanations, and excreta. I do not know how long the virus remains viable on surfaces.
Yeah that was true when the outbreaks were in poor rural areas that were isolated. Get it loose in a major urban center with a mobile population, and things will look very different.
And yet we continue to allow these third world, public defecating leeches into this country... to what end?
Physically alive, spiritually dead. I think they Catholics have a designation for supervillains like Pol Pot, that their bodies are animate, though their souls are already in Hell. And being soulless, their bodies are amoral, which is how they can commit such evil acts.
Ooh, don’t you know UT prof Pianka is all giddy with self satisfaction that ebola is on the loose. He teaches his students that 90% of the human race should be killed off with ebola although he’s not stepped up to go first.
The people recently killed by Ebola are nearly alive.

Yep, as in that liberal bastion and blue blight in the heart of Texas. Yep, as in that place where the university prez said if the legislature didn’t waste tax dollars to slap down the Top Ten Percent Ruling (top ranking 10% graduating TX high school seniors get automatic admittance to the in-state public college of their choice and that UT initially brought on by their own discrimination against whites) that UT would have to do away with the football program. Yep, that place where they’re all up in arms this week because, tee hee, some Aggies planted maroon bluebonnets. Yep, same place where B. Jr. was assigned an illegal alien with a full ride but middle class white US citizen who graduated 3rd in high school had to scrape by. Yes, the story on the professor was on FR years ago. Crazy and scary, huh.

Like I said, I am a prepper. Still have the quarter-closet full of N95 and N100 masks and just refreshed the antibiotic supplies today for bacterial threats. Plus, much more. But over the last 25 years or so I have learned to steer well clear of those who make fear their business and terror their M.O. Plus an unhealthy dose of conspiracy theory thrown in.
