A lot of lefty blogs are calling for a boycott of Rush Limbaugh after he indulged in blatant, ugly race baiting. I’m not joining that call, because I don’t believe boycotts are a good thing, in general. People like Rush Limbaugh should be allowed to say this kind of stuff; it makes it easier to see what they’re really advocating, and who really supports it.
I searched, and found not a single right wing blog denouncing this vile rant. As far as I can tell, nobody on the right seems to think there’s anything with this.
Since I’m being excommunicated from the ranks of the faithful anyway, I’ll come out and say it: this is absolutely disgusting. Where was Michael Steele? What the hell is wrong with the right?
Rush was being sarcastic. The left has no sense of humor.
They choose to jump all over a JOKE that actually does have some ironic roots, but they give a pass to the President's company ACORN for openly PROMOTING child sex SLAVERY.
SLAVERY!!!! Not segregated buses, actual HELD AGAINST THEIR WILL AND FORCED TO WORK SLAVERY. (OK, there were not any slaves in the actual case as filmed, but the employees were so blase about it that there probably are, somewhere, some brothels pocketing taxpayer-through-ACORN funding.
Remember that Obama, in office, is more tied to ACORN than Cheney ever was, as Veep, to Halliburton.
Segregation won’t work, they need the white man’s tax dollars.
Do these people not understand parody and satire? Rush even said he wasn’t being serious.
A bus full of kids cheered on the beating of a white kid and Rush said of course, all whites are racist so it was self-defense and they need to keep minorities away from the vile racist white kid.
Remember that July 4th story of a family being attacked while watching fireworks by a mob yelling “It’s a black world” ? That wasn’t racial either according to the cops.
Or the old case in Miami where a bored gang decided to beat up the next white person to walk by. I think it was an elderly person. Of course that wasn’t racial either.

I never even once read Little Green Footballs. My first impression was that the name was referring to picking one's nose, rolling the material into ball shapes, and flicking them in random directions. It was an immediate turnoff to me. I refuse to patronize such juvenile names. It's gross. I may be wrong about the meaning, but I doubt it.
Rush’s satire is obviously not for everyone.

Johnson is so hyper-concerned about any hint of racism in the Republican Party, claiming that unless the Republicans purify themselves it will drive independents to the Dems.
Meanwhile, Al Sharpton can be a prominent and respected member of the Dem party, and this creates no cognitive dissonance.

I don't know enough about Charles Johnson or Little Green Footballs to have an opinion of him or his website. If this is an example of his critical thinking skills, I don't think I've missed too much.
I had thought perhaps there was a clever reason behind the phrase, little green footballs. But, on second thought, maybe not.
Only reason Johnson , heh Johnson, attacks the successful is to get hits on his dying website.

The funny thing is Rush said that there would be someone reporting on him saying he believed in bus segregation. He called it, sure he will be laughing about this tomorrow.
Note that NPR’s Frank James excuses ACORN’s behavior because it draws from the inner city poverty pool (read predominantly black) and all of its social dysfunctions.
Perhaps James and Limbaugh should get together and compare notes...except Limbaugh was being sarcastic and James is earnest.
LGF is a left wing lover. Otherwise they would know sarcasm when Rush speaks.
Rush can be a comedian at times but they do not care. They want him out.
