I hate drivers that refuse to follow the law. The other day I was driving to work down a busy street; I had just passed under the freeway, and was approaching an intersection, where there were a lot of people waiting to turn left. To my right I saw a car exit the freeway, zoom past me, cutting me off, and pull in front of all the cars waiting to turn left, cutting them off and turning left himself. I was dumbfounded that anyone could be so reckless and irresponsible. It occurred to me, if this person cares so little for traffic laws and human safety, how does he behave off the road? Does this person follow other laws, or does he treat all of them so lightly? Does he care about the safety of his family and friends in other situations? Why does that concern for safety disappear when he is behind the wheel? Is it ok to murder someone, because it would save you time? Or to rob someone because it is convenient for you? Then why are those excuses for breaking traffic laws?
I think it is our duty as responsible citizens, as decent human beings, to obey all laws, including traffic laws. If we can't even abstain from crossing a solid line, driving in the carpool lane without a passenger, slowing down at yellow lights, etc., how can we call ourselves responsible citizens or people? How can we tell our children that good people don't break the law, and then offer them a poor example?
Beyond that, I think it says a lot about ones character. If we act one way face to face, but then act like animals behind the wheel, what does that say about our character, morals, ethics, sincerity, etc.? If we are to maintain any sort of civility and kindness in this country, we should be courteous no matter the situation, including when we are on the road. As far as road rage goes, calm the crap down. Your time is no more valuable than anyone else's time, so relax, and drive slowly. It drives me nuts that some people think it's ok to get so pissed off about something so small. Are you really that important that it is ok for you to act like a jackass, because I accidentally cut you off? Were you that inconvenienced? Don't take yourself so seriously. A person that has truly mastered himself is able to control his emotions, where as a person with poor moral fiber, and/or a dim intellect is incapable of such self control.

Yea and how about that weather.
I agree....try driving in Dallas....they do not know what a turn signal is.....
Wow, I just Googled “turn signal”... what a great idea...
Sounds like something a cop would do.
Did you happen to notice an O bumper sticker?
Probably remnants of a Kerry one, too.
Whilst here in California, the use of a turn signal is an indication to the driver in that lane to close up the gap and eliminate any possibility of making the turn. Moral: don’t use the turn signal in California.
That’s for sure. California drivers are awful.
I’m guessing you’ve never driven the freeways of Southern California.
Ugh! My biggest peeve while navigation Central Expressway every day. What do they think we are, friggin' mind readers?! Just show a little courtesy by using a signal and I'll return the courtesy by giving you enough room to change lanes.
LOL you need to try it sometime.....
It’s usually people who really have nothing to lose financially. Either that, or they are some minority who has grown accustomed to preferential treatment, or they are from NYC or LA.
Jeff Foxworthy said that if you saw a car in Atlanta with the turn signal on, it was most likely purchased that way.
People like this are why God equipped each and every one of us with a pair of
Mister Digit Hand Puppets®
Many idiot drivers don’t know when they have the right of way, or when the other driver has it. A Yield sign means that the other driver has the right of way. Got it?
Thank goodness my brakes work!
That is why the fuzz run your identity thru the system when they stop you for a traffic infraction...They have a pretty good shot that reckless drivers are wanted for something else too...
I’m really starting to think that the “Holier Than Thou” Lane Blockers are more dangerous than the Merge Surgers, and the Stop Light Kamikazis. Aggressive driving mostly happens in predictable areas and traffic formations. At least you know what to expect.
Last week as I was leaving the local Lowes, some twenty-something guy coming from the other direction came straight at me in my lane rounding a curve. I slowed down and flipped him a one-finger salute as he got into his own lane and zipped by me. As I rounded the curve a twenty-something female came straight at me in my lane. It was panic-stop time, and the ABS brakes kicked in. Thank God I had ABS, because our bumpers were about three feet apart when we both came to a halt. The bitch was screaming at me to get out of her way. She was in the wrong lane. I was in shock because I had been preparing to die. She finally got into her lane and left.
My guess is that I was collateral damage in a domestic dispute.
The violent shaking from the ABS episode shook my truck so badly that it had an electrical event of some sort. It took out my battery, the ignition coil and my radio. $550 to get it all fixed.
A panic ABS stop is not good for your vehicle, but at least I avoided a head-on collision.
I now officially hate college-age drivers.
I will, if I can work it in while texting and changing the radio station.
