This is the gloomiest post-election prediction column I've seen. I felt it should be posted for posterity.

BTW: IMPORTANT NOTE!! This is MY 10th Anniversary on Free Republic, I joined on Nov 9, 1998. In that time I have posted 190 articles and slightly over 10,000 responses! That is an average of 1000 postings a year, or 3 a day.

> Nationalize 401K’s

If the libs think the financial sector is bad now, wait until they see what happens when millions of people empty their 401Ks (accepting the penalty and tax liability) rather than see the government take the $$. Billions (trillions?) withdrawn from stocks and other investments -- no economy could withstand that. Wouldn't help the rest of the world, either.

Man, that’s a suicide creator, if ever there was one! I can’t hunker down, if there’s nothing to hunker down with.

My Dad told us last night he is distributing as much of his estate before the laws change by the end of the year as he can so Obama doesn’t rape his estate when he dies. He’s trying to figure out how much he needs to live on for the rest of his life. And we’re meeting with lawyers so he can give it to us in as much shelters as possible.

When he talked to his lawyer the lawyer told him he was the 22nd client to call since the election and the call was made on Wednesday afternoon. We meet on Monday.

My Dad is the millionaire next door type those who will be really hit by this. He built a company from the ground up and took a hit to sell it to his employees 2 years ago for 15 million instead of the 18 or so he could have gotten on the market.

Note how the small to medium non corporate owners supported Mccain while the super rich support Obama.

My Dad has never gotten a cent from the government. He has employed around 100 people at any given time and paid them well and they paid taxes. He paid corporate taxes and personal taxes up the whazoo. He raised 4 children who are all productive citizens successful married with kids.

He also has given generously of his money and time to charity especially his church.

That’s a typical evildoer to Obama.

>>>>The religionists will say the suffering emanates from legalized abortion, homosexuality, and pornography. I think such contentions highly controversial, and .... it matters not a wit at this point whether such moral quandries were resolved differently.<<<<<<

But.... but... this is the conservative agenda, is it not??!?!?!

Something the Founding Fathers neglected to mention in the Declaration and Constitution but upon which the GOP and "conservatives" must focus their perennial efforts above and to the exclusion of all else, right!?!

Forget about that "small government" and "limited taxation" stuff, to heck with that darned "liberty". Who needs it? That's for Goldwater geeks and weenies.

Elmer Gantry for the GOP POTUS candidate! That's the ticket.

The income tax is bad enough, but I see a wealth tax on the horizon where you will be taxed based upon how much you’re worth too.

Also, Obama wants a carbon tax. Anyone driving a car is going to pay higher gasoline prices to pay the tax and I would not be surprised that in exchange for US govt bailout, Obama will demand a carbon tax on new vehicles, expecially for V8 engines and large diesels.

I hope the remaining GOP Senators stand together and fight this.

there are people like my husband and myself....not rich enough to do tax shelters nor devious enough to be tax cheats....

we will have no public pension and my husbands expected private pension and medical care after retirement went up in smoke with the bankruptcy of his company....

a little too young to withdraw our bit of 401ks ...

we have no idea what to do....

.work less to appear poorer?..

learn how to be tax cheats ?

earn money under the table?

we are not even to the point of giving away our bit of money...we still have some mortgage to pay off...

Hey, congrats on your longevity at FR. Ya got me beat by a couple years.

This article is hair raising. I feel like stuffing every dollar I have into my mattress or something.

And the really frustrating part is that it seems all we can do is “wait and watch”.

Arrghg.

One of the problems I have with this article is that it’s another article that just assumes that the majority of voters will definitely vote for conservative Republicans in ‘10 and ‘12, and I honestly don’t see any serious political changes happening for the next sixty years, if ever, no matter how much damage a President Obama and a Democratic majority in both the House and Senate end up doing. Also, the MSM will be in the tank for Obama and for the Democratic majority in the next Congress for as long as humanly possible, if not for Obama’s entire duration as POTUS, and their ongoing anti-conservatism and ongoing anti-Republicanism will succeed in getting enough voters to actually not vote for either conservatives or for Republicans as well as be even worse than what we all witnessed with the MSM during the entire duration of the ‘08 elections. There will also be even more ignorant voters and even more stupid voters in both ‘10 and ‘12 than the total numbers that existed in ‘08, IMHO. Political correctness, in total, really harms the whole world, and political correctness will also continue to get even worse for everybody everyday all over the world, which only improves the “political left’s” chances for political victory even more during each and every future election.

The writer is truly an optimist.

He neglected to mention that every single person reading his article is going to die.

Actually, I see a lot of validity in his comments and things really are quite bleak. That is especially so for posterity and the idiot Sesame Street raised brood that actually secured this jackals (aka Hussein) power seizure with their mindless votes.
