Apologies for Recent Meltdown Regarding TechDude
The Greater Evil ^ | 08/10/08 | Polarik

Posted on 08/10/2008 10:41:26 AM PDT by Polarik

I requested to have my original post to be pulled, in case you were looking for it. In its place I'd like to offer an apology.

I sincerely apologize for the rather abrasive post I made regarding the work of another. It was out-of-character, and uncalled for.

It takes a real man to admit when he's made a mistake, and when he was wrong, and I would like to do just that.

I should have known that cracking on others is not the way to win friends and influence FReepers. I owe everyone here a debt of gratitude for sticking with me, and supporting my research.

There's a back story to all of these reports that should be told, but not by me. It would explain how I felt and why I overreacted, that is, if anyone was really interested to know.

Think for a moment what it would be like for you to spend two months and hundreds of hours on a discovery that you made, only to have it snatched away without any acknowledgments to it. Not on here, mind you, because FReepers know how to make them.

I'm a bit discouraged by how things have turned out. Nevertheless, I do have legitimate gripes against others, but those gripes should never be aired in a public forum.

And I promise you that it will never happen again.

I am still committed to the cause, to see that Obama never steps one foot into the White House. That is a lot more important than receiving any accolades that might help this process along.

Thanks for listening.

Ron Polarik

Hey Ron,

Apology accepted......don’t sweat it. You did the right thing with this thread.

And I, for one, am glad you are putting Hussein under your microscope.

Cheers!

We all have our bad days. I snapped at a sales clerk this morning and I was on my way to Sunday School and Church!

There's that modesty again.

Anyone who fails to credit you is in the wrong. You were the first to call attention to the forgery.

I didn’t see the post but I know one thing: this fraud might never have been outed had it not been for your sharp eye. Please stick around.

A customer ripped my head off on Wednesday, ruining most of my day, due to a situation over which I had no control.

He told me he would see me on Friday, so my Friday morning kind of sucked as well, as I didn’t know when to expect him, but I knew ‘what’ to expect.

When he arrived, he immediately apologized for his behaviour with me on Wed.

That simple act lifted a ton of weight and stress off my shoulders.

I yelled at a manager once, a few years ago, in frustration, and then made a special point of stopping to apologize.
She said I had made her day, as she couldn’t understand why I was so angry at her.
I felt much better, too.

:-)

Funny you should mention it. I had Tiramisu-flavored coffee for breakfast!

Not a problem.

One thing I’ve learned in my 9 years here is when to back away.

Certain threads — certain directions — replies that would be delicious to post keep echoing in my head for days after I read certain things — but I’ve learned, from being burned like you felt, when to just start over scanning threads.

Anybody still here after a few years has learned that. Or been banned.

I didn’t read that post, but who cares. A good jumping up and down rant is good for the soul.

I’m not a coffee drinker, but how would a good big splash of coffee liquor like Kahlua taste in your coffees?
